In July 2009, I ordered a promotion 5 for $5 and was billed $25--a misleading offer to say the least. When I called to cancel the account (before I even received the package), I was told to mark the package REFUSED/RETURN TO SENDER.

The package was marked and taken to the PO the day it arrived and now (2 months later) I still don't have a credit. I had to do the research on the return of funds myself, because they never did it as promised. When I called them I was told they didn't receive it. After a lot of discussion, I was transferred to a supervisor who said she's going to issue a credit, but I don't have one still.

This promotion is a rip-off scam.  I noted that SEATTLE COFFEE DIRECT has several scam notices posted on the internet.

Exactly when did "customer service" come to mean that we have to service them with the information instead of the company doing what they promise to do?

They have to wait for 60 days to pass, so that you can no longer dispute it with your bank.  Then they don't have to do anything but keep your money, and they will just claim they shipped it and you can't prove it was returned, leaving you with no recourse.

In fact, watch out for more shipments and charges, as long as the billing information they have will work.

I am dealing with the same situation.  However, the charges were all in the end of August until the end of September.  I returned the 20+ packages marked return to sender and sent them back via ups.  It has now been 30 days and no credits have been applied.  They are claiming that it takes ups 4 to 6 weeks to return them since the postage for the return is not pre-paid and its not a priority for ups to send them.  I find that very hard to believe!  Once they receive the returns, it will then take 1-2 billing cycles, or in other words another 30-60 days for my account to be creditted.  They can ship them out and bill me daily but they can't refund you for up to 14 weeks.  This is the biggest rip off company!

I used a citi mastercard and luckily I am disputing the charges and they are helping me fight this battle.  They were supposed to only send 1 package every 2 weeks but stated it was set up to send them twice a week.  That's not true as I received a package almost everyday for about a month, even though I called to cancel it 4 times.

Close whatever account you gave to them as they will keep charging you but I have yet to see any credits back.  Please post any updates to this scam as I am sure everyone would love any further details.  We can win this together.  I am now putting a complaint in with the better business bureau as well.  Good luck to all who have been ripped off!
