My suggestion to you is to RECORD ALL OF YOUR CONVERSATIONS WITH DISH SATELLITE SERVICE REPS.  MAKE COPIES OF THE CURRENT SALES PROMO THAT ARE ONLINE THE DAY YOU PLACE YOUR ORDER.  WRITE ON THE CONTRACT WHAT THE DEAL IS YOU WERE PROMISED WHEN THE INSTALLER DOES THE INSTALL. DON'T TRUST DISH SATELLITE.   Now, here is what happened to me.  I went on line to get Dish internet and TV.  I have 2 other witnesses who heard the conversation with the service rep because we were on speaker phone.  When I called and talked with a service representative, I was promised a Total bill of $89.98 per month for internet service and 190 channel pack for the first year (this included the $10/month discount for bundling I would get for the whole two year contract).  The next year I was going to go to the 55 channel pack to keep the price low.  The customer service rep said there would be a $10 charge for HD.  I told him I didn't need HD so not to charge me.  He said my TV wouldn't work if I didn't get HD and that I had to pay for it.  So, my bill went up to $99.98.  When the technician came to install the two dishes, he said I couldn't get HD because of all of the trees I have.  (While he was here, I purchased some screen cleaner and a surge protector. Had I not purchased these items, I would have noticed the pricing error right away.)  I told him about my conversation with the service rep on the phone and he called Dish to get that charge removed.  They were supposed to send me a bill the first month but it never got here.  I received a message on my phone saying I didn't pay my bill and I immediately called and paid it.  Today, a month later after I received that phone call, I get my bill and I see that I am overcharged. I call Dish Satellite and ask them to pull up the recording of the call when I ordered the service and they will hear that I was lied to.  They tell me they can't do that.  They said I wasn't charged for HD service because new customers get the service free for life.  So, right away I know someone is lying or has lied to me.  In my view, THESE ARE VERY DISHONORABLE PEOPLE.  I THINK IT SHOULD BE LAW THAT THEY MUST EMAIL  OR MAIL YOU WHAT WAS AGREED TO BY PHONE SO CUSTOMERS WON'T BE CHEATED BY DISHONEST SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES or at the very least, DISH SATELLITE SHOULD MAKE IT PART OF THE ORDER PROCESS TO ENSURE GOOD/HONEST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Customer service said they are willing to credit me $5 month for 6 months.  I told them I will take the credit but this does not resolve the issue. Again, my suggestion to you is to RECORD ALL OF YOUR CONVERSATIONS WITH DISH SATELLITE SERVICE REPS.  MAKE COPIES OF THE CURRENT SALES PROMO THAT ARE ONLINE THE DAY YOU PLACE YOUR ORDER.  WRITE ON THE CONTRACT WHAT THE DEAL IS YOU WERE PROMISED WHEN THE INSTALLER DOES THE INSTALL.
I need the internet for my part time job (I am way out in the country).  I wish I had never ordered the satellite dish for TV; I did without it for 5 years.  I am a avid Kindle fan; I read and listen to books often.  I DON'T NEED DISH SATELLITE TV.  After this contract is up, I will DROP DISH SATELLITE TV AS FAST AS I CAN.  There is no customer devotion here!  I feel like I have been scammed and cheated.  Although, the money isn't that much, it is more that I feel I WAS LIED TO AND CHEATED BY DISH SATELLITE from the beginning of that first phone call.  I hate the feeling of being cheated by some sleaze ball company.
