I landed at Brisbane airport from Hongkong on 31st Dec 2015. I discovered that my baggage was damaged and I couldn't pull it because the handle had got broken.I reported it at the  Baggage Service Centre at the Brisbane airport. To my shock the lady sitting was absolutely indifferent and rude. I have travelled with other airlines and never had such an indifferent attitude from an international airline representative. I was told that Cathay Pacific has a policy not to repair or reimburse for any damage to the luggage. I have to claim it through my travel insurance and on my insisting that I need in writing that the airline is not responsible for the damaged luggage I was issue a letter stating that cathay pacific is not liable for the damage to the luggage during travel. It is a shame that airlines cheat passengers like this. I am awre that Warsaw Convention  states that "According to Clauses 17 and 18 of the Warsaw Convention, airline companies are liable for any damage that occurs to passengers or their belongings during in-flight". I am going to give up easily . I will also post it on every forum to make people aware of their rights and how these Cathay Pacific is trying to dupe innocent passengers.
