My Maytag Centennial Washer is only 15 months old and yesterday the spring on the lid locking mechanism broke. I spoke with a Maytag rep and she offered a $299 one year warranty....really? Why do you need a lock on the lid in the first place?
This is the noisiest washer I have ever owned as well as the fact that it takes almost an hour to finish a load. We have always owned Maytag washers over the years and I am very disappointed that Maytag's quality has degraded to this point.
Yesterday I purchased a GE washer with great reviews. I will not purchase a Whirlpool or Maytag appliance ever again. Their customer service is as bad as the product!
