I was booked and ticketed on a 6 pm delta flight between PHL and CVG. at 5:30pm delta boarded the flight and we all got seated. At 6 pm Delta told us we were going to load on some additional passengers, as the 4:30 pm schedule flight between PHL and CVG was cancelled due to mechanical failure. At 6:15 pm they asked us all to get off the plane. At 6:30 pm Delta loaded the passengers from the 4:30 flight onto our plane and left. they next cancelled my flight leaving me in PHL.I have to book my flight on US Airways and pay for it, Delta has yet to re-pay me or refund. I am a platinum customer on Delta.

If they will do this to me, they will do it to anyone. I am now flying American and united.

Just to let the rest of the world know, that after being on the phone with a delta rep from god knows where,(couldn't understand most of what they said) For two and a half hours, then being ripped of 10,0000 of my sky miles. And given one add on charge after another, your airlines can rot in H--- as far as I concerned! If you have to use this worthless airlines do not use their 800 number!!!!!
I will do all I can for the rest of my life, to never ever use them again and
I do hope they rot and rust in a junk yard as fast as possible.

On 12/19/07 we received a call that my father-in-law, who lived in upstate NY, had had another heart attach and was not expected to live.  After a lot of internet searching and phone calls we were able to get a flight from Cincinnati to Syracuse, NY.  Fortunately we got there that evening a got to spend some time with him before he died the following morning.  The cost the round trip tickets for the 2 of us was $1977.60 for seats that probably would have been empty if we had not booked those seats the last minute.  After we returned home from the funeral I inquired about Delta's bereavement policy and was told that it was discontinued when they went to their "SimpliFares" program, which offers lower cost fares, even when tickets are not purchased in advance.  To me it doesn't look like their SimpliFares program is working.  I responded asking for contact information for officers of the corporation and they replied with the same information they had already sent, with no contact information except a customer service number.
Our problem it not so much that they no longer have a bereavement policy, even though we do not agree with their policy, or the fact that SimpliFares doesn't seem to work, it's the fact that they won't respond to our request for contacts to escalate our complaint to.
Since that incident we have driven 2 hrs to Indianapolis to fly Southwest at a much cheaper rate and exceptional customer service.  It was well worth the drive.  Deltal certainly does not understand 'Customer Service'.

Their Call center is in the Philipines. No you can't understand them - they don't speak english!
It's another reason to fly United or American. They kept the call centers in the US so we can have jobs here!

I think there may be some confusion here.  I do not believe I have ever had an off-shore call center cotact from Delta.

Occasionally I have a strog accent from the south or Canada.  But their call centers seem to all be domestic

Boston, Salt Lake City, Ft Lauderdale, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Cincinatti, Dallas and a few others as I recall.
