Has anyone had an issue with a Kinetico water softener "backwashing" incorrectly and causing a hot water tank to rust out? Just built a new house (5-6 years ago) with a new softener and hot water tank. My water tank contractor is blaming the water softener.
The old water tank is toast (it is leaking)
Is this failure to backwash correctly even possible? If so, how do I save my new water heater?
