Trying to Get me to Give my Credit Card Info

I just received the same call from Peter regarding a $200 gas card that when it reaches my front door I have 5-7 days to pay the $2.95 shipping - Pay nothing now but when I receive the package on my door step pay in 5-7 days.  He was able to tell me my name and mailing address, no city or state was given nor did I provide one for him.  He gave me his company ID number and the voucher number.  I asked where he was located he said Arizona, I said no you're not and he insisted he was in Arizona (cellphone identified the call as coming from Georgia). Then the next thing I know I'm transferred to manager Jack Thomas or Stone - accents were very hard to understand.  He insisted I give him credit card information to hold on account, and once the package was received they would charge my card.  He was very persistent, asking which card I was going to use so he could give me the pass code to activate the card to which Peter stated was already activated.  Then I got very annoyed and told them I was at work, and I will not under any circumstances give them that information and to take my number off their call list, as I hung up I still heard Jack asking for a credit card.  Oh he said any card - target or walmart gift cards. I was annoyed at myself for staying on the phone so long with them, but I guess they push the right button "free gas" I usually hang up, when they say I won something but I have to pay something to receive it.

"$200 gas card that when it reaches my front door I have 5-7 days to pay the $2.95 shipping - Pay nothing now but when I receive the package on my door step pay in 5-7 days.  "

So what's to stop him from charging the moment he gets off the phone, or even while he's still on it?
Or charging whatever he wants, like the $58 "monthly fee" he "forgot" to mention?
    His "honesty"?

Oh, that's right!  He's in "Arizona", and everyone in "Arizona" is "honest".  Specially if they are named "Peter", or "Jack Thomas", or whatever...

"Oh he said any card - target or walmart gift cards."

Must be getting desperate to cover overhead, or maybe he doesn't get paid unless he "closes" on at least something..
