every day for the past five months i have been recieving phone calls for two different people. i tell them neither of them are here and one of them which is my husband are not available he works late nights and the last person that i spoke with said it is the law that they can call up to nine o'clock at nine but they have called me eveyday to ten o'clock it is very annoying that they continue to call me and it is very exhausting listening to these people beong very rude and when u tell them to stop calling they keep calling i want the calls to stop it is a cell phone not a land line
i will file a harrassment charges if this continues please stop calling my phone

    They are a collection agency.

    Have you received a collection letter from them?
    Are you aware of any delinquent debts?

    Are they calling for a legitimate reason, to collect a debt you or your husband may owe, or are they calling trying to reach some person unknown to you?

    They appear to be a BBB member, and appear to respond to BBB complaints.

    They do appear to engage in telephone harassment, particularly when they erroneously contact the wrong consumer.

    Consistent pattern thru most complaints over the last year.  In most of these complaints, consumers allege accounts were already paid, or are not even their accounts.  In one case, original creditor confirmed no amount was owed and didn't know why Northland would be trying to collect.  Harassment and bullying by Northland to try to collect anyway.  Very different picture from their BBB report, although that shows many supposedly resolved complaints.

    I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM NORTHLAND GROUP A FEW DAYS AGO ON A DEBT THAT WAS DISMISSED IN A COURT OF LAW BY A JUDGE. THE JUDGEMENT WAS IN MY FAVOR. IT WAS FOUND THAT I DID NOT OWE THIS DEBT AND I HAVE THE JUDGEMENT TO PROVE IT. THIS JUDGEMENT WAS 30 MONTHS AGO. WHEN I CALLED THIS NORTHLAND GROUP, I SPOKE TO A VERY RUDE CSR AND WAS ADVISED THAT ANY JUDGE CAN SIT A COURT ROOM AND MAKE ANY JUDGEMENT THEY WANT, AND THAT I STILL OWED THE MONIES, WHICH I NEVER DID TO BEGIN WITH. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE STOPPED FROM DOING BUSINESS. THEY ARE NASTY, NASTY, NASTY. I AM SENDING COPIES OF EVERYTHING I HAVE TO THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION, AND MY STATES ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS.

    If they want to ignore a judge's decision that the debt is not owed, get an attorney with experience in FDCPA and FCRA litigation and sue them.  Both allow courts to award damages and attorney fees.  Let attorneys do what they do best, while you go on with your life.
