I've been getting calls 2 or 3 times a DAY. They won't leave my family alone, we have never had any debt and they are supposevely collecting for my dead father in law who had no debt. They ask for his death certificate but I refuse to to fax it to them and when I ask what the debt is they ignore me and blame it on the executive of the trust

    They are in the business of collecting on really old debt, and they develop strategies to do so while evading providing any proof, as it isn't cost effective or even unobtainable.  One part of this appears to be aimed at maintaining phone harassment, while denying they are doing so, trying to get some small payment that they can claim resets SOL, so they can then threaten to sue.

    Get an attorney, send them notice to stop contacting you, and sue them if they ignore it.
