========
My opinion about Airtel service support has gone down from Bad (It was great about 2 months back) to worst since last few weeks of my conversation with different representative who are their @ Airtel to pull down its reputation

My original request

a)Shifting of my Broadband and phone connection from Jayanagar, Bangalore to Electronic City, Bangalore. All I wished was same number to continue as I have been using it over 7 years

Events that took place for this since over 1 months

a)Request was made on 25th of May, and i was told that I will get same number 99% chances with in 3 days (I contested that no point in shifting if number changes, instead I could take a fresh connection)

b)After about a week, To my surpise I got someone at my new address and
informed me that number will change ¿ Request number 46854010

c)I asked the guy to hold on installation as I need same number, the service Engineer went back and told me that I will get a call back from Customer Care on this

d)After multiple follow ups almost on daily basis and talking to floor
supervisor on this I was told that my number would change ¿ request number
47640742

e)I accepted number and asked for two preferred number (close to same as older number)

f)Then I get call from broadband team 080-41112941 and I informed them that I am not happy and may want to terminate the connection in case of change in number. They informed me that I will for sure get same number and shifting team is giving me wrong details that I can¿t get same number.

g)According to broadband team my shifting with same number will happen with in 1 day (this was about on 13th June)

h)After follow up multiple time I was provided another request number 47742732 but no results

i)To my surprise I got call from your cancellation department stating there is no more DP possible hence why don¿t I transfer this line to some of my friend. This lady was more of a sales person then a customer care. Shame on this team

j)After this event I spoke to Nodal officer and informed him about the entire episode and he told me my connection shifting with same number is in progress and hence all this delay. So he requested me to wait for 24hrs

k)After this on 22nd I got a call from Airtel Engineer who tells me that all the guys are making me run in circles and I can not get same number, by now I had lost all my patience and told the person that I want to get out of this Airtel mess

l)On 22nd after thinking a while I called up again Nodal officer to check with him on what is going on, I told him same story and my service request numbers. He told me that he will escalate my issue but can not promise if I will get the same number (I informed him that last time you told me that I will but in any case lets try). My new request number provided was 47939842

m)After this I got call on 25th stating that my connection cancellation request is done by 24th of June, and how about the payment. By now I was too furious that I told the lady that they was fully disconnected and do not know what they are working on

n)After this I got another call with in 5 min from this lady and she told me that she saw my updated request to accepts the changed number (as spoken to Nodal officer) so they will do the needful

o)My surprise did not end here, I got another call today (27th of June) from same lady who called me on 25th of June and she told me that my connection has been disconnected and if I am okay to take another number then it would take 7 days to reinstate old connection and then start of shifting process

I do not know what to do with the deep [***] I am in with Airtel support team

Rohit

    Hi Rohit,

I am also unfortunate enough to be a Airtel Broadband customer and I am facing a similar issue - probably worse !

I also requested for a shifting on my connection from JP Nagar to Sarjapur Road. Since I rarely use voice calls I was not bothered about number change. So I just noted down the new number and broadband id provided by the guy who did the setup. Later on  when I logged in  to my account to pay the bill I found the account number and phone number were not matching. It was still showing my old number. Trouble started when I tried to call up and register a complaint to get this rectified.
First they asked me for my landline number and I gave the new number. They said - sorry this number is not in service. Then I gave the account number and they said I am still having the old number ! This - inspite of the fact that caller id when making an out going call is showing the new number. They just refused to do anything about it.

Finally my worst fears were confirmed when by service got disconnected and out going calls blocked citing - "non payment of bills" as the reason. I registerd a new complaint on this. Believe it or not - the response was that they have not disconnected my service, they even said they have checked the line status and it is working fine ! They just refuse to accept that they are probably checking the wrong line for status. Somebody else is enjoying broadband at my expense and Airtel refuses to acknowlege it. I am fed up with complaints and escalations so I am now looking at evaluating other ISPs. I hear that BSNL is good inspite of the "Public Sector" tag

    regards

It sounds so familiar with my case. Somewhere around July 2011 I placed a request for transfer of the connection from Vijayanagar to Jayanagar; when there was a huge delay  I placed a cancellation request. Then they forcibly came and put the modem in place which didn't work. Thereafter the connection wasn't up at all; I called multiple times to the Airtel customer care and whoever came to my house for inspection of the connection closed the case at Airtel without seeking my permission. "Building connection problems"  was the closure summary it seems.. Then I placed second cancellation request somewhere around September 2011. Guess what, they kept sending me bills every month for the connection that I never used!!
On Feb 18th 2012, I receive an email from Airtel saying " your connection has been deactivated.... please pay outstanding amount of 2770rs by 22nd Feb to avoid, further legal proceedings!"

I don't know whether to laugh at these people and shoot them in their head.

Airtel customer service is the worst ever I have seen so far!
