There seems to be a pattern of dishonesty at Thrifty. Last year we had one problem where my staff was FORCED to buy extra insurance when in fact we have insurance coverage. She would not be given a car unless she agreed to buy the insurance. They never resolved that problem. Yesterday I had booked a car for my wife (Kim Yeo Jee) under her name. As I was paying for the rental, I entered my blue chip number. I had confirmed with Thrifty in person that my wife is allowed to drive a car that I book. She arrived at Las Vegas airport and after a FULL HOUR of wait told the agent her booking number was FLRS7H. The price was to be $365 for the rental period (until 3 May). The Thrifty staff told her the booking could not be honored, gave her a car that would cost four times higher (downright dirty and dishonest business practice) and the agent forced her to buy insurance, which we don't need and which she expressly declined. She was told "How do we give you a $25,000 car without insurance?" Actually we are covered by our corporate insurance policy and also my credit card insurance covers the car. I called the car rental customer service and the man was arguing the whole time. He said I should not have entered my blue chip number. But why? I am paying for it> My wife is driving the car. Why not? We planned to to keep the car till 3rd or 7th of May but now she will have to return the car today.
