I received a call on my home phone stating that they are trying to collect debt from a loanI have with them. Knew the last four digits of my ssn, and everything. Looked them up online and saw that they were online payday lenders. I haven't taken a payday loan in over 10 years and the one I had was payed back in full.

    They have scam complaints..
From complaints, it's not clear whether the "lender" itself engages in fraudulent lending, or if there is some scammy "debt collector" pretending to be collecting on what they claim is one of their "payday loans".  Your complaint is consistent with either.
There are numerous "debt collection" scammers who will pretend you "owe" them, hoping to convince you that you "forgot" some "old payday loan".  If it doesn't match any financial reality, it's probably totally bogus.  they may be getting your id information either from some scam "payday lending" website you might  have entered your info into, some "lender" that went bust whose records they got, some sleazy payday lender employee selling customer data out the back door, or by just pulling your credit file.

If you don't remember that you have any debts or something, just dispute the debt. You could also file a lawsuit against the agency if they have been harassing you by calls.

We have been getting phone calls about a payday loan from 9yrs ago. Leaving harassing calls stating that we were bombs and they knew the debt wouldn't not be paid.
