Both of these Maytag products are a waste of money

After my mother passed away in the fall of 2010, I used the small inheritance that she left me to buy what I thought was a good quality washer, dryer, and dishwasher.  Tears come to my eyes when I think of how disappointed I am with this purchase.  The dishwasher has not worked properly for over a year.  The lower spinner quit spinning so now I can only wash dishes on the top rack.  The washing machine is ridiculous.  The only way I can even begin to get the clothes remotely clean is to wash everything on the heavy duty-heavy cycle, deep clean, with double rinse.  How can that possibly be energy efficient?  I learned early with this washer to wash my delicates by hand because this machine eats lingerie. I have spent many extra hours rinsing the white spots off darks before putting them in the dryer.  The whole laundry room smells like stinky towels.  My disabled husband has taken to cursing the machine and would kick the whey out of it if he could. Now, tonight, at midnight, my washing machine is locked, my nursing uniforms are stuck inside, the machine wont restart, wont cut off, wont open, and I have to get up at 5:30 to get to work to take care of sick people.  Wish someone would take care of Maytag's sick inventors.  I would definitely use a 14 gauge needle on those guys!!  I do not have the money for repairs. I am searching the internet for some clue as to how to get this D@#* thing open.  I wish I had used my inheritance more wisely.  MAYTAG SUCKS!!!
