Five, six, years I don't recall, LA Fitness has deducted $20./month. My bad, have stepped in maybe five times. When I tried to cancel by phone, they said you can send a written request but It's advised to send it return receipt. Not a fan, can't make it to work out, now you want me to go to the PO and pay for a letter!?!? Stopped in tonight to do the in person cancellation, showed my ID and the receptionist printed a bar code form and send just send it in. WHAT???!!! We can only cancel on the spot if our office manager is here and she only works 9-6 sorry. WHAT!?!?!? Ok I explain the return receipt process and my conversation by phone instructing me to stop in any LA Fitness to cancel. She's going to ask if I have to come back, because I said hey I'm here now you see my ID and I have this bar code you printed me??? And I have to pay for the stamp! She comes back, sorry you will have to come back in person. Seriously!?!? I haven't made it in person to use what I've paid for, let alone make OT back here in person for Ashley's 9-6 schedule. No annual contract, month to month payments made faithfully, and now getting more excersise jumping through hoops then I did with these guys! Dissatisfied with customer service or the attempt of and still have a membership that was easy to cancel "by just stopping in to any location". Not impressed to say the least. Tell ten people, they tell ten people...and so on!
