I had a credit card with MBNA with a credit limit of $10,000. Once Bank of America bought MBNA, they reduced my credit limit to $7000, and increased my interest rate  from 13% to 28%. I always paid on time, never missed a payment to any financial institution. When I asked them about the reason for these changes they said it "had to do with derogatory items on my credit report". I pulled my credit report and there was nothing new there since I got the card.  I called them again, but they told they can do nothing.

I had an FIA account.  My daughter's name was on it because it was supposed to help her credit rating.  No problem.  I had automatic payment for years.  Boa took it over.  My daughter now gets my credit card info, although her email address was never given on my original account.  She went to pull up her own account, and mine came up.  She was going to make a deposit, but then she was told she was responsible for My account, instead.  As I said I have automatic payment.  I can't pull their online account up, I don't use it.  They would not take her name off.  Boa said they would send a form to have her name off of it.  Does this lower he credit rating, or mine?

The staff was considerate, but the last guy hung up on me. It appears to me they are sharing info because they had my daughter's email, not mine on their account from her account.  So, do I just pay the bill off and then just use another credit card?  I really don't want to do business with them knowing my information is being sent to another party, even though I have her name  on my card she is getting it online when her email address was not on the FIA card, they chose to send it to her, when I am the main recipient and I don't get it on line because I don't even have an account with them.  What credit card do you suggest.  I will talk to my bank today.      I just think something is wrong here.

Your daughter is not just, "put on there," she is considered an Authorized User and has almost all the same rights and usages of the card as the Primary Card Holder, you.  She can ask for a lower rate, she can also get all acct. information, she can also request a higher credit limit.  The same as the Primary Card Holder(PCH).
FIA CARD SVCS. was always Bank of America it was just another division of the Company because FIA serviced many cards for many banks.  Are you naive enough to believe some small town little Credit Union can issue a Visa card?  They do not have the ability to manage or fund, or service these accounts so 90% of them have always been the BIG BANKS, including Bank of America/FIA.  You have been dealing with BOA for yrs. and you just didn't know it.
Your info. was never shared between two companies it was always OURS. (bank of america).  We are the main player in all banking in the USA, along with Wells Fargo, and CHASE, chances are any card you have is one of us three.

I applied for the Bank of America credit card back on 5/2011 with a zero interest rate, I missed one payment of 15 dollars and the interest rate increased to 20.9%. According to the Cust Serv Rep I got the card during a promotion which ran out. LOL go figure. I guess this is how the banks trap people. Luckily I owe less than $2000.00

I have a couple of credit cards with BofA. I've been a customer since 2003. In March of 2013, I made a payment on my BofA Amex card online with my checking account. A few days later, I was told that the payment was returned unpaid. I asked why, they said they could not find my checking account. I told them they were the only ones that had that problem. They in turn froze my Amex and said that I can only pay with debit card or cash and they gotta have 2 consecutive payments that clear before they can reinstate my account. I paid with my debit card to replace the "returned" payment. Then this month when I tried to make a payment, they told me I have to pay with cash and they can not take payments over the phone. I spoke with a couple other "customer service" reps, and the last one said my account has been closed because of the returned payment. They said the only way to re-open my account is to run my credit again.

I opened a B of A card in 1984 . At the time my husband was a signer, Skip to 27 years later after the card had not been used in a long time  , My soon to be  ex-husband activated his "signer" card and B of A let him charge over 7,000 $ meanwhile Bof A never ever considered calling ME the card holder to confirm if in fact this was ok,"red flag" INACTIVE CARD,  so NOW divorced and over 7k in debt B of A sends me to collections because I couldn't pay. my 50$ payment wasn't enough but because of your NEGLIGENCE to protect ME the card holder you put me in collections. SHAME ON YOU!

Bank of America charges back in interest even after the balance in paid off in full. I have excellent credit and will not pay any back in interest.  This is a interest that was added after the Federal Government made the card companies change their practices and now the card companies want to stick it to their cardholders. I just cancelled my BOA card because of this.  Discover card gave me a low balance credit of 2.00 even tho I owed the 2.00 Discover is what I call a superior card company.
