Jenn-Air customer support refuses to supply documentation

I have a Jenn-Air stovetop that we have owned for over 30 years. We love the stovetop and I decided to restore it as part of a kitchen remodel project. I've got several hundred dollars tied up in this project and am trying to finish the job. I sent a request to Jenn-Air customer service with the model number and asked for a copy of the wiring schematic so that I could verify that I've got it right. I got the following response after my second request saying that I would pay for the schematic.. You will notice that they took the opportunity to try and sell me something else, but they won't even sell me a copy of that schematic.

Unfortuantely it is still true that we would not be able to provide any additional copies of the wiring diagram that comes with the unit originally. This is due to the reason that by providing this information, we would be providing technical information for DIY repair situations. Our customer experience centers are not available to provide technical assistance, literature or DIY self help repair information. We are only available for assistance on the use and care of an appliance.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may create. For any further assistance regarding any repair needed, we would advise to have a servicer inspect the unit for further assistance.
