Verbally Assaulted and overcharged

Greece Rental
Country: Greece
Yesterday the 17th, I returned my car at the Heralion airport.  Unfortunately, the experience I had when returning the car was one of the worse of my life.

I lost my credit card earlier in the day and was running late because I tried to go back and retrieve. I called the Chania Europcar accidentally but was transferred to the Herkalion location where I spoke to a women whose name I cannot pronounce.

I called and asked for an extension because of the credit card issue and she said no problem.  When I returned the car later I was told that I would be charged for another day.  I was not told this on the phone.

The biggest issue however was how poorly I was treated by the man returning the car.  His name is Kostas Famelis. I asked him politely to explain the charges and the confusion for the additional day's charge.  He began screaming at me and demanding to see my phone so I could prove that I called to extend the rental. I showed him my phone call list from my recent calls.  He still said that I was responsible for the additional charges. I had no problem paying for the charges but I was concerned that it was not communicated to me that I would be charged an extra day for the three hour extension.

I never felt so scared and threatened in my life.  I am in a foreign country trying to understand the miscommunication and he berated me in front of the entire staff.   If I were in the United States I would have called the police and charged him with verbal assault. This is a man has no customer service skills and is a danger to have on staff. I spoke politely the entire time. At the end before leaving, I turned my camera on and made a video of the way he was speaking to me.

I asked for his manager's name and he told me I can see him in the winter. That is when his manager will be available. His manager's surname Dretauis.

I will never rent with Europcar again.  I should not feel threatened by a employee of any company and I don't believe that Europcar would support this type of treatment.
