Damage to home caused by improper installation

Dear Directv,

Me and my landlord, Thomas Climpson, recently cancelled your service. We have returned the equipment and documented several places where our house was damaged by improperly installed cabling. Specifically, our drywall and floorboards are damaged because your installer ran 2 cables per room for your particular system when most competing satellite systems (e.g. the Dish Hopper) and all cable receivers only need 1 cable. I suspect the installer had no prior experience, because he left LARGE holes in the walls and floor, and I have pictures to prove it. Your installers need to be trained better at their orientation and start showing they care about the home of the person who has the service, especially when it comes to safety and the risk of property damage. In addition, your receivers need to be redesigned so they only use 1 coaxial cable, to make things easier for landlords, tenants, homeowners and your installers. Your installers need to also make sure equipment is installed correctly according to the National Electrical Code.

The holes will cost us at least $20/each to repair if we do it ourselves or even more if we have to call in a remodeling professional. I no longer recommend DIRECTV to friends and neighbors, and I recommend DISH instead because of the property damage your installer left here and the fact my DISH installer was far more professional and did a better job.

Thanks for reading this.
