to whom it may concern,
I'm writing this message to APEX because I have no luck reaching your customer service department over the phone. This is regarding a check for $169.93(check#228207) that was written to APEX without my authorization. The phone conversation I had with APEX was that I will pay only a small shipping and handling fee of $1.95 and all of the sudden my bank statement shows that I was charged for $169.93. I did not agree with this arrangement. There is no way I could have agreed because it is way over my range. I only agreed to the shipping and handling charge of $1.95. Please refund back my $169.93 and cancel my account with APEX. I don't want anything to do with APEX in the future. All I want is a refund back. I had to close my bank account because of the outstanding charge. This is a serious complaint so if you need to call me please call ASAP @808-853-9484.

I doubt many companies reads this site.  Most posts are from other consumers with problems.

In general, there appear to be many "companies" that continue to make unauthorized fraudulent charges following some "trial offer", which somehow or other, just can't ever be cancelled....  You might even conclude this is what they intended.  In other words, "free" is just another phishing game to get your account number and take your money.

If you have unauthorized charges on your account, and you can resolve it with the merchant, or can't even contact the merchant, dispute it thru your bank.

Since they have your account number, and are making fraudulent charges, contact your bank immediately to dispute the charge and close the account to prevent future fraudulent charges.  Follow up with a written dispute to your bank.

In the future, avoid such offers.  Do not use debit or check cards, and cancel any that you have.  Use checks only to pay companies you know, such as for rent, mortgage, utilities, etc.  Use only ATM cards requiring a PIN at your bank's own ATM machines.  Use only credit cards for retail or on-line purchases, since there are fewer problems from closing down a credit card number than from closing your checking account.
