Called A&E Factory Service, Middleburg Heights Ohio             (800)905-9505       and requested a service call. Customer Service Rep. was cordial and dispatched a technician within 26 hours (showed up at 1:00 pm). Tech was professional and determined a bad compressor on our Maytag. Tech gave price for repairs but but couldn't repair due to lack of parts. He said think it over and if you decide to fix it call the 800 number, which we did before 5:00 pm that day.

Customer Service Rep. said the tech didn't download his computers transaction data so the computer didn't show any information, call back in the morning. We called the next morning and secured a tech visit to install the compressor but when we asked for A&E to order the part for us the Customer Rep said it would be quicker and easier if we ordered the part our self. She gave us the 800 number to call for Sears Parts Direct and the part was ordered. The part was delivered in three days and the tech was supposed to come the following day .... but was a no show. We even had a call early in the morning asking if we had received the compressor...we said yes and then the A&E Customer Service Rep abruptly ended the call". We figured this call was to make sure the tech had the part before arriving|. But even after the confirmation that the part arrived the tech was still a NO show:.

We figured it was time to call and see the tech's whereabouts|. We called A&E Factory Service and was hung up on one time but we continued until we got through;. The A&E Customer Service Rep?. said they would not install a compressor that was not purchased by them?. We explained the dilemma and insisted that we simply did what we were instructed to do by their A&E Customer Service Rep|. The repetition of apologies is indeed a trained art. The Rep. apologized dozens of times but firmly shot back every time with "there is no way they would accept the liability or warranty for installation of a compressor that they did not purchase". We explained we needed to talk to a supervisor in the next level of customer service.

The next level revealed the "CIS Rperesentative" ....the highest level of customer representative that exists at A&E, we were assured. The results were the same, only with many more apology's. The CIS Representative is indeed intended to clean this mess up but lacks the necessary tools to do so. After violating our trust and insulting our intelligence our fearless CIS Representative asked "was there anything else she could do for me"? The true miscarriage of this all was how she chose to resolve the issue ..... "we will get back to you"....

So all in all out of pocket $463.50 and still looking at a inoperable Maytag Refrigerator.

This is a scam pure and simple, tell us to order and then deny the install. It seems they (A&E) like to provide service on easy things but when the problem requires parts that are not on-board their vans, then the problems really begin. Charging for additional visits to diagnose or order parts and eventually come back to fix (maybe 2 to 3 weeks). If you have the patients of Job then this is the service company to call.

Is there any better reason why America is going downhill, company's like this have ruined the "service industry" with unscrupulous business behavior.

A&E you have a lot of explaining to do. 11d25d8
