Deactivation of airtel sim card

Hi,
I am Komal. I bought an airtel prepaid sim in july,2013 after submitting all the required documents. But few days back i got a message stating that all services related to my number has been cancelled due to non-verification of my name and address. As i was out of state, i was unable to get resubmit my documents within 48hrs. When i contacted airtel store, they said that the number can be reactivate in post-paid only that too after 7-8 days.
But i want to continue with the prepaid service only. Kindly look into the matter ASAP and resolve it.
