A Dish representative was going door to door where my dad lives. He had a big Direct tv satellite on his house and he was watching tv when the guy arrived. (His tv is always on). The guy took advantage of my dad (he has dementia) and tricked him into signing up with Dish while his caregiver was gone. When I called and spoke with their fraud department, I was told I would have to submit a letter from the doc, stating my dad’s condition, and only then would they release him from the “contract”. When I asked if they would disconnect their service and reinstall his Direct TV, of course they said they could not. When I asked if they would repair the holes, I was told “no”. They can create a mess and not do anything to fix it. Elder abuse/fraud should be a punishable offense! On top of that, my dad has to wait until next week before he can watch tv on his own. With dementia, any changes are confusing.
