Received phone call from above number asking for donation from national cancer research foundation.  First thing they asked for was debit card number or credit card number.   identity theft &/or scam

    Solicitation/scam - if I don't recognize the number, I don't answer.  And, I don't understand why we bother to register with Do Not Call when the service apparently fails to block scammers.  Isn't that the point?

      I so agree with you but after reading all of the why they do not move forward with fines etc I see why it is a poor excuse for consumer protection. I even sent in where the block of caller numbers had purchased their phone numbers from and still nothing. I never answer just block the caller. If I am bored I answer and keep them on the line with a bunch of dumb questions and made up health concerns.

    This is a SCAM using sophisticated robo-calling equipment.  Meant to sound like live people but is fake.
