I receive numerous calls from this number, up to 5 times per day.  I have not answered a single one yet, and the only message left is a long, virtually silent message, like when someone accidentally calls you from their cell phone.

After researching this number, it seems it's related to another slew of harassing calls I receive from a myraid of 800 numbers in which they always leave an automated message on my voicemail stating, "This call is from Macy's regarding a personal business matter.  Please call 1-800-511-3207."  I have never returned the call.

I am so sick of these calls all day long now for more than a month... I DON'T EVEN HAVE AND HAVE NEVER HAD A MACY"S ACCOUNT!!!  I don't even shop at that hole- in person OR online- and can't remember the last time I stepped foot in one of those stores!  This is clearly a scam, and it NEEDS TO STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reported to actually be an in-house collection department at Macy's.  May also be associated with other related companies such as Bloomingdales.  Some people are reporting problems due to having several accounts with them, with payments being mis-posted.

If you don't have any account with them, and they are calling your number in error, you might tryi contacting Macy's executive offices to see if they can stop calling you.

They open a seperate account for me without my knowledge.  after I reported my card lost.  I went to Macy's closed both accounts and had the rep get them on the phone told her to F off and close my account and the extra one they opened I will never do business with that [***] hole company again.   They are thives and scammers.

They did this to me - my wife told them to stop- we have no business with them- we are on the do not call list- they have a machine call and hang up 5 times a day. i called them up and basically screamed at them and threatened lawsuit. I hope this works.

I am never going near a Macy's again and am going to try to avoid them at all costs in all ways.

This is how you make enemies corporations, and how you go out of business on household at a time.

I have had the same experience. When we talk to them, they make offers or fish for info. We tell them we are not interested. They call back and hang up over and over and over and over. They do not leave a message. Have to do caller ID to find it is them- if they were legitimate they would leave a message once. They put you in a wait line to talk to them and then you get someone who can barely speak English. I made it clear to them and threatened legal action. We will see what happens.

WHY DO THESE PEOPLE KEEP BEING ABLE TO DO THIS?

Here it is September 2013 and I'm experiencing the same old garbage, being called repeatedly by the same phone number.
I called Macys back initially, concerned that my card might have been misused, but there was no activity on it other than mine, my account is up to date, and there were no issues. The calls continue, the recorded messages continue. and it's true, when you get a live person, the "representative" can barely speak English. I was transferred to the Fraud dept., and that person could have been a Taliban insurgent. I'm done doing business with Macy's. Apparently they're a shabbily run, unprofessional organization with no commitment to customer privacy or maintaining a decent reputation.

Macy should find out who they are and take action against them and publish in newspapers.  They are destroying their name.

Macy's in America ruthless as Bugsy Siegel
MACY’S RECIPES FOR HIRING PEOPLE AND ABUSING THEM
Macy’s managers are well paid to abuse Macy’s workers and employees
Macy’s managers enjoy the good life, driving very expensive cars, getting high as much as they want to and promotes violation of labor laws for Macy’s benefits with the advised of some lawyers working on the Labor Laws ethical borderline
Very well paid Macy’s managers abusing a lot of employees justifies their very high salary, because they are saving a lot of money to maintain a large number of employees paid at the minimum wage and making a lot of profits on its sales as well on the low wages paid to employees.
No employee hourly increases, in other words nobody gets a dime, never, even after working many years for Macy’s and having an excellent performance on the job
Macy’s profits came from a combination of paying low wages to employees and very high mark ups of cheap merchandise bought from Asia
Violations of labor laws is the norm at Macy’s and well and cheating and deceiving.
Macy’s is having Lawsuits for paying less hours that the hours worked by the employee. Not one case, but on many cases on employees working in the USA
Also taking more deductions than the law allows on employees paychecks
HOW YOU CALL A COMPANY DOING CHEATING AND DECEIVING AND BREAKING THE LAWS?
“I know the name you have in mind, but unfortunately you can not say it here, because it is a bad word and some people may feel offended by that”
The best you can do is not shopping at Macy’s
Show Macy’s smart ass managers getting high all the time, who is the boss!
Macy’s without customers, won’t go anywhere and Macy’s managers will not get the money to buy the drugs to get high and doing illegal things on employees
But obviously, Macy’s managers are receiving orders from the CEO or others very important people at Macy’s to act illegally
Is Macy’s the new ruthless Bugsy Siegel gangster in America?
MACY’S, WHEN A DOG STILL AT LARGE!

I do agree that Macy's seems to have some major issues with their customer service department but believe me, most of the rest of this rant is completely false. Have you ever worked in one of their stores or been a manager?  You don't know what you're talking about. Have you ever seen a busy day at a store? Those people are running. Instead of focusing on the issue, you make a blanket statement that all Macy's manager's are drug addicts? Please. Maybe you should stop doing drugs and research your topic before you speak.

Yes, just had the same call.
I told Indian guy I pay through mail or at stairs never on phone. He then proceeded to say will that be debit, credit or check?
I called the customer service number and they asked me for my phone number and said it wasn’t linked to the account. The same info the guy called me on!
      A sham

This number is from the Macy’s credit card collections department. If your phone number is linked to a Macy’s credit card account with a negative balance, they will call your number to collect. If they’re calling your number in error, simply call them and ask them to remove your number from the account it’s linked to, if it’s not your account. All you need to give them is your full name and the last two digits of your social security number. I spoke to them personally and it IS the Macy’s credit card collections department. They will not leave a message, because they’re attempting to collect a debt. Dilemma solved!

They called my Onstar number in my car!!   I don't even know that number myself, and it is not associated with ANY accounts I have with any store.  Clearly this is a scam or Macy's auto-dialing ANY number in the world.

This actually is a Macy's number. It is for your STORE card, not your CREDIT line. I called the 866 number off the Macy's site to report this, and found I actually did have a store balance that I had not received an invoice on (no more paperless billing for me!). They were legitimate purchases, I do have an account, etc etc.

If you DON'T have a Macy's store account, a family member or someone who previously had that number likely does (or they forged an acct and you're the lottery winner on the phone number they chose. Good luck.)

    Not A Macy's Customer

    Receiving 4-5 calls a day from 800 511-3207

I called Macy's Credit Customer Service at 1-866-593-2543, informed their rep that I did not have a Macy's acct. I was told that the 800 511-3207 phone number IS NOT A MACY'S collections phone number.

    SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM....

The Macy's rep DID ask for my Social Security number.
    I REFUSED to provide it.

Yes, the phone number being called by 800 511-scammers is on the Do Not Call Registry and will be reported.

Number has a long history of association with Macy's and Bloomingdales.
      https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/8005113207
      https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-511-3207

Number had originally showed up connected to Macy's and Bloomingdales credit operation in Ohio.

More recent consumer posts suggest it may be used by an Indian call center contracted to Macy's.
They appear to make a fair number of mistaken calls, or calls to numbers once associated with Macy's customers but now owned by other people, but the callers talk is more in line with inhouse collections rather than third party collection agency.  Numerous reports of asking for id information, but few reports of abusive collection tactics.

Never provide any identification to any caller, and if the caller appears to be from a company you have a business relationship with, call them back through a number you can verify, such as from your statement or credit card.

This is a collection agency for Macy's. I checked after reading these sites and I DID have a past-due balance on the store card part of the card, not the Amex part of the card. I had no idea :(

We recently began receiving DOZENS of daily calls from this number, but were disconnected when we would attempt to answer them.

We had no idea they were potentially linked to Macy's until we googled the number.  We did have a past due balance of $15 on a Macy's account because our attempts to pay online were continually getting an error message and it took Macy's 2 weeks to respond to our email message.  When they finally responded, we were instructed to delete our own Macy's profile and then make a new one.  That apparently fixed the system glitch and we paid the account in full immediately.  Not certain what was wrong that they couldn't have fixed it.

I have no idea why Macy's would pay someone to spend that much time on us for $15, but it could have been better spent fixing whatever ails their website.

Just a completely disappointing experience on every level.  Done with Macy's.

    Done with Macy's

I received at least 3-4 calls today from (800) 511-3207 while I was at work.  There was an automated message left; Hello this is Macy's regarding a personal business matter.  Please call today.  I called the number back.  I do have (or did have) a macy's card but was never asked any information about that.  I was asked my phone number and last 4 of my social.  The man on the other end was foreign, hard to understand and refused to tell me his name after asking twice, he told me that I had a past due balance that needed to be taken care of from last month or it would be taken to small claims court.  I had already called about this statement, my payment posted late because of the holidays.  I told him that I had the date, time and name of who I spoke to last week stating I did not have a balance.  He was very rude to me well you have a balance now and it needs to be paid.  I asked for a supervisor, he would not transfer me, he asked me what kind of solution that would be?  Did I think they were going to tell me I didn't have to pay my bill?  I was being mocked as he was talking in the background, "she thinks she doesn't have to pay bills" is what he said to the people around him!  At that point I was fed up and disconnected the call.  I then called the customer service on the back of my card.  I told her that I wanted to file a complaint to the person I just spoke with if she could please look up my record.  The date and time of the call were there but no name.  I paid my billin full  with her over the phone and deactivated the card.  She said deactivating this card will not allow it to be opened again.  I told her that after my encounter with the rude representive from earlier I was sure that I did not want anything to do with Macy's ever again.  So over a late fee of $25.00 macy's has lost a loyal customer. I always paid my bill in full and never made a late payment.  I will never shop there again and will be sure to tell everyone I know about the poor customer service!!!!  Shame on you Macy's
