Not to long ago I noticed a charge on my debit card for $148.99. I asked my husband anf he confirmed he didnt make any purchases. under the transcation was digital star +numbers. I called the bank and since the charge is still in pending i.have to wait till it posts to file a disbute! Ridiculous! Im super pissed right now!what is this digital star?

    It appears that "Digital Star" is a defunct company that was reportedly dissolved on 1-29-12, but their merchant account is being used to make fraudulent charges against numerous stolen credit and debit card numbers.

    This is NOT a merchant "billing error".  It is a large bunch of fraudulent charges put into the payment system to steal money.  As the charges are being used by criminals to steal money, the only way you will get your money back is by your bank yanking it back in response to your fraud dispute.  If they fail to do that, make sure it's their loss, not yours.

    Block any cards used to make the charges.  If this is being charged against a checking account, it is probably accessed through a debit or check card.  If the charge was made directly against your checking account, you will need to close the account to prevent additional fraud.

    You are safer blocking all debit cards and only using credit cards for on line or retail purchases.  The federal protections against fraud are stronger for credit cards.
