On March, 14th 2007 I ordered a GEM LCD 17" monitor which had a rebate of $110 ($90 + $20). I sent the rebate timely with all the required documentation and waited patiently for 12-14 weeks as stated by the offer. It's been 23 weeks and I haven't received the rebate payment, I have called 4 different times and was told the check would be sent this Friday. but nothing is in the mail making me think this is not a serious business.

If I don't hear from this company in the next few days I will sacrifice even more of my time making sure they don't get away with this abuse and making people aware of the risk they would be taking by making business with them.

I also purchased a GEM 19 inch monitor in March of 2007. I am still waiting for my $100.00 rebate check. Panacer blames the manufacturer for not supplying the funds to them so they can issue rebates to consumers. No one should make promises they can't keep. I plan on filing a complain with the Dept of Consumer Affairs.

Hello.  I too have been a victim of mail fraud by Panacer for having bought the GEM 17" and 19" LCD monitors.  My rebates were filled-in in a timely manner, photocopied for my reference, and then postal machine stamped and promptly mailed.  They even received them.  I was told that the processing could take 14-16 weeks, but thatw as back in Feb. 2007!  Since then I have emailed them many times and starting July/August 2007 they have stopped replying to any and all email inquiries.  They even told me that they were waiting for the company to release funds to them to process the rebates.  Now in November 2007, almost 36 weeks later, I'm still waiting for 4 rebate cheques.  Apparently their domain is registered to Michael Chien at michaelchien@yahoo.com, and I can't seem to find anymore information on the company itself through the Government websites, public records, or internet searches - very strange.  They have no toll-free telephone number to reach them through for sales, support, or rebate purposes and more people who bought these monitors and are still waiting for their rebate cheques should file complaints against them with the Internet Fraud Complaint Center, the F.B.I. for mail fraud, and since they're in California, hopefully someone will file a lawsuit against the company that all victims can join in on for compensation as this is clearly negligent and fraudulent behavior.  Just keep all your receipts, paperwork, and email, just in case.

Same here.  I bought mine online from On Sale back in January.  I have sent emails and I have a status listed as in process. but nothing.  I'm going to start with the BBB and see what I can find.  Does anyone have any GEM contact information?  Who do you go after?   Thanks

I also bought a 19" LCD GEM monitor in March of 2007, submitted everything properly, and have followed up and received the same story as others here.  I'm told it's the manufacturer not paying out, and that it's in process.  I'm going to start by filing a complaint with the BBB, but I'm not sure if it will help me get my $100 rebate.  I would be happy to participate in some sort of a lawsuit against these guys.  I get the feeling we're just a few of many out there that GEM is not fulfilling their rebate agreements with.

Yeah! I am in the same boat with you. Purchased, photocopied, sent in, waiting..
This is really the first time that I have been stiffed with a rebate. It just happens to be for $90.00. That is a lot of money.

I was thinking of perusing this thru a small claims court. That way Panacer would have to legally respond or I win. This would still cost me more money to do that.

    Anybody ever try that route?

I am in the same boat as everyone else, and yes, I received communication from Panacer that said they had yet to receive the funds from GEM.  Checking out internet posts, I ran across a link from a guy who found that GEM and Panacer is the same company, and that blaming the manufacturer for not providing funds is their crafty way of avoiding blame.  He even said that the picture on Panacer's website is the company that makes the GEM monitors. That link is here: http://www.eskimo.com/~jmtt/gripes.htm  He does report that he finally received his rebate 2 years later.  I suggest that everyone continue to contact them, and inform the company where you bought the monitor of the scam...we can't sit back and let this fraud go without a fight.
