On 11/22/16, I purchased from CheapOair 2 tickets from Atlanta to Minsk, Belarus for my wife and step-daughter so they could spend Christmas in Belarus with family. Both tickets and travel insurance cost $1,066.22. E-tickets were issued for both. The flight was scheduled to depart on 12/3/16. After driving almost 5 hours to the Atlanta airport, I dropped my wife and step-daughter off and began driving home. About an hour later I received a call from my wife telling me that CheapOair had voided their tickets (without ever informing us). As a result we were forced to purchase new tickets directly from Lufthansa. The cost of each ticket was $1,740.99, plus a $20.00 service fee for each. I contacted CheapOair immediately and told them the situation. They apologized for their actions, accepted responsibility, and promised to refund to me the difference in price. On 12/14/16, I contacted CheapOair again because I had not heard from them about my refund. I was told that a supervisor, Glen Rogers, was working on my case and would call me with details in 3 - 4 hours. He never called. On 12/16/16, I called CheapOair again and spoke directly with Glen Rogers. He told me that my refund was being processed and it would take 7 - 14 days to get a refund check. He said that I would receive a call from their accounting department on 12/19th or 12/20th so they could obtain more information. I never received a call from accounting on either day so I called CheapOair again on 12/23/16. This time I spoke to another supervisor who would only identify himself as "Milford" who told me that a $56.00 refund was issued to cover the original service fee for each ticket when I bought them, and that my refund was still being processed. He told me that supervisor Glen Rogers would call me in 1 1/2 hours to update me on my refund. Mr. Rogers never called. I therefore called CheapOair on 1/3/17, because I still had not received my refund nor had I been contact by anyone at CheapOair. This time I talked to another supervisor who would only identify himself as "Innes". He informed me that he had spoken to a supervisor in accounting who had authorized my refund and that I would receive the full amount of my refund within 10 business days, i.e., on 1/17/17. Today I checked my mailbox expecting to receive my refund check; it was not there. I consequently called CheapOair and again spoke with "Innes" who told me that my refund had not yet been authorized because they wanted copies of the receipts from Lufthansa for the 2 tickets I was forced to buy because of CheapOair's mistakes. Note that I had told CheapOair on 12/3/16, that I would send them the receipts but was told it was not necessary. After I reminded "Innes" what he had told me on 1/3/17, he apologized profusely to me and told me that despite being told by accounting on 1/5/17 that the receipts were needed he never contacted me to let me know this. I emailed the receipts to CheapOair and received an email from OneTravel.com in Las Vegas confirming that the receipts had been received. Innes once again promised me that he would make sure my refund check was issued promptly and that he would keep me updated. As you can well imagine I am not happy with the way CheapOair does business. I will update this post when I finally receive my refund. CheapOair's treatment of me and this matter has been unprofessional, incompetent, and bordering on fraudulent business practices. I am very disappointed and, despite having previously used CheapOair to purchase tickets, I will have to think twice about ever using CheapOair again.
