False contact information

Someone from Northland Group called my home phone this morning looking for my ex-husband's girlfriend - Eve Faybik. When I asked what the call was in reference to, I was told it was "of a personal nature." When I inquired further, I was told that Eve provided my number as "her contact information".
This concerned me, as I own the home that she supposedly provided to this agency for her contact information!!
I requested that her name and MY phone number be removed from their records. I will also be contacting Northland Group directly to ensure that this is accomplished. When I searched Northland Group on Google and learned that others have received unsolicited calls from them as well, I thought that I should share my experience.

They just used skip-trace databases, found she was connected with your ex, probably with a common address, and followed your ex's past addresses or phone numbers to you. If they are collecting a legitimate debt of hers, they can legally pull her credit reports, but they should NOT have pulled either your ex-husband's credit reports, or yours, if neither of your names are on the account.
Although in your case they might have been legitimately trying to contact her regarding a debt, and they are required to not disclose that to third parties, you can see how easily they could start harassing the wrong party.
