A couple years ago I started receiving magazines from out of no where. Then I received a call from "Jeremy" who said if I didn't pay for those magazines, I was going to be charged more and would be sent to collections. Jeremy intimidated me into giving him my debit card information, which I deeply regret. Then I started receiving magazines never ordered. Called them, which "Jeremy" said I had 2 accounts & every time the threat of collections has entered the conversation. Once an associate called and tried to get me to pre-pay my subscription, which I said, "no", so they wanted to verify my billing information for the 1st account, which I agreed to! Turn's out the recording was me not agreeing to my 1st account billing info but a 2nd account!! They tricked me into renewing a subscription which I never wanted in the first place! I have secured the services of an attorney, told Brice Montgomery, 1-888-803-0953 x6320 that a complaint was filed with the CA DOJ, the MN DOJ and the MN Better Business Bureau. Brice said he would cancel my second account as a show of good faith & Reader's Club is a member of the Better Business Bureau. Don't let these thieves trick or intimidate you into ordering anything you don't want.

They faked the original "order", extorted you into "agreeing" to it, piled on more unordered magazines, and just keep coming back for more. Doctored recordings is a common practice with this type of fraudulent marketer.
You should know what to expect by now.
"Good faith"? from a swindler and con artist? Are you kidding?
And they are a "member of BBB"? Not that it matters, but do you really believe that, given all his other lies?
You keep putting up with it, they will keep coming back for more.
As for their "recording", not only is it doctored, but if they did not disclose to you that they were recording, before doing so, making the recording is illegal under California law, which requires 2 party authorization. Although they are using it to intimidate you, implying that it "proves" you "owe" what they are extorting from you, it wouldn't even be admissible into a California court as evidence of this faked "order".
Several years ago, California went after a NY brokerage house for recording clients without notice, fined them a bunch, and they were actually using it to document legitimate orders from willing clients. California also requires out of state telemarketers to register with the California Department of Corporations, which many fraudulent telemarketers ignore.
