I purchased my Cabrio washer Model WTW7800XW2 in Jan 2012.  By mid 2014 (after the warranty expired) the defective lid cracked where the metal springs meet the thin plastic assembly. Over a short period of time the lid totally split and made the washer unusable.  I called the "customer service" dept and had no satisfaction from them as I tried to get a free replacement part considering the circumstance.  I had no choice but to buy a new lid and have it installed (approx $400 total).  Once again now in March 2016, the same issue happened all over again.  I called customer service and even spoke to the supervisor but again to zero satisfaction.  The company is not recognizing the defect, even though there are thousands of complaints filed.  They just did not care about how obviously defective the part is.  Even though there are engineers pointing out the defects.  They have also changed the design of the lid on the newer models.  I never looked for a hand out in my life.  A quality company would have stood by this defect.  I have lost all faith in Whirlpool after this experience.
