I received a call from someone, name was not clear on the phone, I called the number back that was on my caller ID 866-357-8404 they connected me with David Dunn,he said he was an investigator working to make collections for this company. I recd a msg on my phone on May 22 from a Sue Leone to contact her re PS425587 records for Jason Phelps. Message wasn't clear and the person was very loud. Have no idea what this is about.

    Sounds like a shakedown racket..

    They usually call relatives first, pretending to be "skip-tracing" or "trying to serve papers", to imply some "lawsuit" (which doesn't exist).
    They typically claim to be collecting some "old payday loan", but are looking for suckers who may have had such loans in the past.
    The alleged "payday loan" is usually fake.
    The goal is to panic the targeted victim into paying them money without any proof it's owed, or proof it's owed to them.
    Violates FDCPA all over the place: making illegal threats, third party disclosure, evasion of dispute and verification, deception, abusive or harassing collection, etc.

    They've contacted me as well, threatening to come to my job about a payday loan
