My ex-husband's girlfriend received a call from Northland Group at my home number this morning!  I was told by the representive that she had given my number as her contact number.  

I requested that this information be removed from their records.  When I contacted Northland Group directly, and explained the situation, I was told that my phone number had been "marked as a bad number" on this individual's account.  I was told that they will search for any available information associated with a collection, and if there was any connection, (ie:  in my case, my ex-husband used to use this phone number and has shared a dwelling with the individual in question for the past 6 or 7 years), that they may occasionally get a bad number.

I will monitor this situation, given the amount of similar complaints!

    They have recently sent me a letter after MANY harrassing phone calls that the local phone company will do nothing about or our atty generals office for the state telling me they can call as often as they want

    Anyway i found out they have put negative things on my credit report without no court order or hearing and cannot prove anything
    I went thru a similar thing a year ago and the collection agency did the same EXACT things But filed suit i got a atty and it took about 9 months but it was thrown out because they could not show PROOF i had made charges or anything else
    next time i will represent myself in court and do what they atty did DEMAND documents showing proof i signed and charged things Bad thing is i am now out the atty fees i paid

    I and many others get calls from a number in FL. 407-329-4618.. Rings once and hangs ups.. this has been going on for weeks on my cell.

    THIS PHONE NUMBER CALLED ME A BIT AGO. I WAS WORKING IN MY HOME. I GET TEN OR MORE EVERY DAY.TODAY WAS THIS NUMBER IT WILL BE DIFFERENT TOMORROW. ALL THE CALLED ARE CELL PHONES. CAN NO ONE STOP THE HARASSMENT????? FOR THE MONEY THE CELL PHONE COSTS I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THE IDIOTS TRYING TO DRIVE THE REST OF THE WORLD CRAZY!
    I AM A SENIOR CITIZEN AND HAVE NOTHING EXCEPT MY FOUR GRANDKIDS. I DO NOT WORK ANYMORE AS I AM TOO OLD.

    Can anything be done about these phone calls from (407) 329-4618???? This is absolutelly impossible, they call couple of times every day, never leave a message and never return my phone calls.

    Never Spinnaker
    We scheduled a stay in Daytona, Florida to view a time share through Spinnaker at The Floridian.
    We were promised 4 nights, $50 in food vouchers, and $20 in beach vouchers.
    We were to arrive on March 31, 2009.
    We purchased an extra night to make it 5 nights total.
    Someone called on March 30th to make sure we were coming.
    On March 31st when we were driving through Georgia and almost there, someone from Spinnaker called our home phone and said the following, "There has been a change. You will only be able to stay for the original 3 nights. I am giving you a refund for the extra night you purchased. If you have any questions, call XXX-XXXX."
    We called and told the person that we have a contract, and Spinnaker is breaking the contract.
    It was useless to talk to her or anyone else associated with Spinnaker.
    I wouldn't buy a cardboard box from Spinnaker
    While I was waiting for The Floridian rep to help up with the room reservation at El Caribe (5 miles away), I looked at the people sitting and walking in the lobby.
    Their guests looked bored to death like they couldn't wait for their week to be over

    I have received numerous hang up calls from these people.  I called the number on the caller ID 866-782-1162.  After being asked by a recording to enter my Northland account number and if I didn't have it  my only other option was to enter my social security number. I entered random numbers and after my third try I got a person on the line.  She said they were trying to contact someone with my last name but not a first name of anyone in my household.  When I said there was no one at this number with that name she asked if I knew anyone with the name when I said no she thanked me and hung up. Only then did I realize that it made no sense why they kept hanging up if they were trying to collect money.  I think it is a scam to get people to enter their social security number.

    Received call from Northland Group this pm/10/5/2009 from 1-866-572-8956, indicated I owed money to them and that they were the "Collection Agent" for Sears? Sorry...I have no account w/Sear's , would not confirm or deny any information, sited, Fair Debt Protection Act of 1966, Ammended 2006, indicated to them that they needed to send what ever they were claiming to me only in writing, not to call again! Only go through my Attorney.
    This GROUP IS NOTHING BUT A SCAM, I WILL REPORT TO FCC, FTC and FBI in am.

    these northland people are a harrassing worthless entity. I see they ran a query on my credit profile in november and changed my employment to my step sons name ????? hello they are ignorant and need to pay attention. Mind you i have had the same job being self employed for 15 years and now under my personal credit profile for my job......it says "my sons name" lol are you kidding me they suck. I called transunion and they removed it but come on people.

    tried to contact spinnaker resorts in regards to way supervisors treat employees but fell on deaf ears.   Was told if not employee was nonoe of my business.  Certain people get certain hours in a weeek other people are lucky to get any.    Some people are at work on facebook all day getting paid.   Nothing is said or done....
    Certain employess stay after tours over to get hours, at times several people in  each department doing same.    Human resources do not check on people or departments... Lot of them there just for pay check.    If not a drinking buddy with certain people you are out of luck.   Things change each day to make supervisors look good.   If would get off but and do job employees would stay longer.   Supervisors take off when want to and do not make up time. someone of authority need to check on company employees that are just stealing time.   Have a great day

    This company keeps calling (866-782-1162), our bussiness number and for someone who no longer works for us. They keep calling daily sometimes up to six times a day. We keep telling them (they,he,she) is no longer with us. And my boss is very upset due that everytime they call it costs him $.35 cents a minute. He has phone records of all the calls. We have asked them to remove our number and each time we are told they have no phone number records. What a bunch of bull! They have even called as early as 6 am. What the heck can we do??? Would sure like to stuff them full of -----. Any ways so tired of them calling. This is a place of business not someones home. Answering phones all day I don't mind but come on people, not a buch of debt collectors for someone who is no longer with us. ((Business Only Please!)) And not yours but ours......

    We had a similar complaint just recently, numerous calls to our home phone, we do not owe, not related to the person they are calling about and am in the process of holding them accountable for their abuse, violations and intentional harassment.

    866.572.8956 - calls each day wanting to speak with a person that does not nor has ever worked for me.  I want these calls to stop as this number is listed on the national do not call registry.

    If these calls ever start on your cell phone, or are coming into your cell phone, you may be able to log into your cell phone account and simply block that particular number from ringing your phone.

    These numbers are automated dialers and will just keep ringing your database'd number until they load a new lead list or remove this one...happens about once every 4 months.  

    I have Sprint.  I logged into my account for the first time, set up the username and password they required, gave them an email address, and now I can log in whenever I want (or need to) to block a specific number from ringing my phone.  

    Obviously, this stops the dialer from ringing your phone.  It doubly frusterates tele-marketers or collection agents that have to finger dial your number...and now it's blocked.  It's a little get back for you without ever having to answer THAT number again.  Obviously a dialer uses an array of numbers to call out on, so you may started getting a new call from a new number in the same area code, but simply block that one, too.  I have a telemarketing co in N. California that I had to block 4 numbers over about 3 or 4 weeks...but now...no rings whatsoever.

    Well worth the effort.  Copy this message and send it to your family members and post it on other complaint message boards so the message gets out that we can block numbers (to cell phones anyway).  People that get the message will be happy.
