bayside oakland gardens whitestone forest hills direct tv

I am hoping that people will find this when they are considering getting hooked into direct tv.  First of all, they tell you its a one year contract and if you have HD, you automatically get 2year contract.  $480 cancellation fee if you decide to opt out -- Secondly, I live in Bayside Queens NY and EVERY time we get a drop or two of rain, the picture goes out.  If you are really lucky, it will come on again after you reset the receiver a few times (15 to 20 minutes, each time).  If not, it stays off for hours at a time, until the weather clears.  You are helpless to fix it-- Direct tv wont fix the problems -- You are paying for time that you cannot watch your television...  If you try to call, you get a recording that basically says your problem is weather related.  THEIR SERVICE SUCKS - THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS ARE RUDE AS HELL - THEIR PRICES ARE NO BETTER THAN VERIZON OR TIME WARNER -- PLEASE DONT GET SUCKED INTO THIS MESS, YOU WILL BE MISERABLE -- Hope this helps someone from wasting time and money and at least some other family will get to watch a program without losing it half way thru.....
