Fake Verification
Complaint
Sunil
Country: India
I had applied for the loan on 05.07.2007 in your bank and submitted all necessary documents (Copy of my salary slip of previous company and present company both, house rent agreement, Pan card, bank statement, a passport size photograph etc) in support of my application.
Afterwards, my house verification was done by the bank. Meanwhile, I received a number of calls from Standard Chartered Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai saying that I have left my job as per their verification record and today I received a message from the bank that my application is canceled eventually without assigning any valid reason to it.
Surprising!!! I am writing you from my official mail ID and here I am serving at a very responsible position. Obviously, the person who made such a remark in fact, didn't understand the gravity of such a verification and made a fake report of his fake visit to my office.
I have written to customer care thrice in this week but NO RESPONSE as yet been observed.

Comments
The verification was done via phone and a representative from Bangalore branch called up at my office and on my mobile number.
Moreover without any valid reason the application for the card has been rejected and the customer care has no reply except for their apologies.
On the website they say insurance is optional, but once you take the loan, the insurance option becomes mandatory.
The talk to you at the security desk, they say it is based on RBI notification, when we ask for details, they say the notification was given verbally.
They dont respond to mails, they promise call backs, but never do,Managers are useless group of dumbos. Never take a loan with this bank.
This is in reference to my long follow-up with Standard Chartered customer care. I would like to highlight this matter to you so that you can take timely action and give me proper reply on my disputed credit card issue.
I would like to highlight this matter to all of you that, I have applied for a Credit card on dated Sept, 2005 and I got the SMS in Nov, 2005 that my credit card has been disapproved because of some technical reason from team Manhattan. But on 28th Feb 2006 I received a call for payment follow-up for the credit card which was not even delivered to me and I did not posses and received.
After that on 2nd March 2006 I called the customer care to clarify the mistake by your bank and told them to stop the card with immediate effect and on 3rd March your customer care finally blocked the credit card after my continuous perusal. After that your customer care personal named: Rajeshwari/ Chandrika from telephone number: 080- 22484866 told me that if they will have any dispute they will call me. And Rajeshwari called me to update that she will send me the dispute declaration form to fill.
On 15th April 2006, I got the dispute declaration form via email from helpme@mahnattan.co.in signed by chandrika. After that I filled up the form and followed up with customer care but I didn’t here any thing from them. (I have all the emails, call logs and other relevant details to prove that I have communicated Manhattan customer care about non delivery and misusage of credit card)
Now also with the dispute declaration from over email I got the statement without any postal address mentioned on that to me which states that I have the card and I have spent INR 36322.75 on 25/Jan/06 to 30/Jan/06, with that card which I do not posses.
I found this when I have applied for a loan on Aug 2009 and I got the information from my bank that my approval is pending because of dispute with Standard Chartered bank pending payment. Also now I am following up with your bank for this matter again but no one is responding à from 8th Sept 2009 I was following up with your customer care: and on 14th Sept 2009 (Sathya Ayyamuthu – Customer Care) replied to me that he did received the old dispute declaration form and I again replied on the same day with those details but no reply since then.
I would like you to please respond to this matter on urgent basis or else I have to file a police complaint / complaint with EOW New Delhi and legal way to resolve this matter. Also I will not hesitate to highlight this matter in media if you will not respond to my emails. I would like to see all the receipts and signature based on which you have delivered the disputed credit card to unknown, who without fail exhausted the credit limit in first few days??
I am not at default and this time I will not hesitate to go the legal way to settle this matter. Please find attached all the old and new communications and let me know your feedback and reply to this ASAP. Treat this as a notice to you and if I will not receive any response in next 15 days I will send the legal notice to your New Delhi Standard Chartered Bank LHO.
Thanks,

Dear Team,
I received a call from 011 64640413, the girl said I need to pay 22000 as a settelement amount. Guys please look into the case and then talk. If I have not taken any amount from you then how can you ask to pay the settlement amount. I have asked your CC to call again after making an escalation to your superiors.
If your representative is angreeing that if they would have been in my position they would not pay the amount then how can you ask me to pay. This is simply an extortation that your are demanding.
Awaiting your response.
regards,
Bhudev

4. Reminder sent on 17th May, 2013 (response: auto email)
5. Call from CC on 4th july (issue unresolved)
The Story
I was given credit card(details given above). Enclosed was pre approved PL(Rs.20000) cheque. This Cheque or CC was never used by me. I received a call from CC for the non payment of bill. I confirmed to CC executive, followed by a lawyer, followed by so many calls from different people representing SCB for the payment that I have not utilized CC/Cheque so why should I pay the bill. With the lawyer, the extent was I demanded the Chamber number so that I can come talk about the case. He never responded. This was the story till 2006-2007. Thereafter I made a visit to your office (Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg) and discussed the case with one of the TLs (I guess: Chanchal). She confirmed that It is confusion, I will be sent a Indemnity bond which will solve the case, which I never received.
April, 2009, I migrated to Pune and confirmed my details to your CC via call I received at my home phone(011-26850275). Thereafter also there were calls made to my Pune number 9271599130 and every time I told them the old story and they confirmed I need not take any step.
Till 2013 there were no calls or communication has happened. During the period from 2011 to 2013, I applied for CC and PL(with banks: ICICI, HDFC, SBI etc) all my applications were rejected, I thought these may be due my tenant status in the application. Later on when I applied for a home load with LIC I was told that my application has been rejected due to low CIBIL score(I was introduced to CIBIL by LIC in 2013). Then applied for a dispute resolution and did not got any response from them/SCB.
The call that I received from SCB on 4th July, the lady that the settlement can be done for Rs. 11000. This was a surprise for me, I mean, I have to pay for what I have not done. I said this is something a high amount which I cannot pay….to which she said please write to cards.services@sc.com . Post your reply I will plan my further course of action.
To add to my surprise, I received a letter (scanned copy enclosed) which states that SCB was not able to contact me.
This is a humble request to please look into the issue and provide me with the solution.
Do give attention to the suffering I have incurred due this.
Best regards,
A sufferer
