    Several possibilities:

    1)  If you don't have a Macy's card, they may be calling your number in error, attempting to reach a current customer.  There are numerous reports of their in-house collection department autodialing the wrong numbers.  Contact Macy's executive offices to stop the calls.

    2)  If you do have a Macy's card, call the customer service number from your card or statement to see if there is any problem with the account.

    3)  If you do have a Macy's card, be aware that a telemarketer for Macy's is reported to be engaging in deceptive and fraudulent selling of "credit protection insurance" to Macy's customers.

Never call back on an account using phone numbers provided by the caller, as you have no way to verify you are not being spoofed to get credit card information.  Always call back on numbers you can independently verify, such as from your statements.
