Travel insurance

I purchased airfare and insurance through Airfare.com. NO-absolutely no- information was provided regarding the insurance. I received 2 emails with flight info etc. but nothing about the insurance carrier. I had to cancel 2 weeks prior to departure and was not able to contact Airfare.com. I could not contact Travel Guard because nowhere did they disclose their name, rules, or restrictions. My bank contacted the airlines but they had no knowledge. After several months I wrote to Airfare.com and threatened a lawsuit if they did not provide the information. They gave me the contact info for Travel Guard. They in turn sent me a package incl. release for medical records . It is fraud in my book. I am just waiting for them to decline because I cancelled because of a prior medical problem. I had plenty of time prior to departure if I had their information. Also, they never mentioned why they did not provide me with their information. Anyhow, I am preparing to take them to court. Anybody have any experience with an out of state lawsuit? I live in California.

Calling them was a headache as well. We are thinking of suing them at their HQ home state (Small claims court as the charge totals to less than $2000)
