I have had a similar experience with my bank debit card number being used by someone, somewhere to get a credit score & report from Experian. They have refunded the money, but that is not the point. Their website has no safeguards against this happening. Does not matter to them that the person running up the charges does not have the same name as the cardholder. All they seem to be interested in is billing the fees. The only info they would give me is the first name & last initial of the offender. They protect their privacy without seeming to care about mine. I find it deplorable that a major credit bureau is so lax in protecting consumers against fraud. It almost seems like they encourage it. They need to be stopped! My advice is for everyone who has this type of experience with Experian is to at the very least file a complaint with the Attorney Generals' office of the State you reside in so there is an official record of it. Also, notify your Congressman and try to find out who to contact an a Federal level to notify of this rampant, outrageous activity.
