These company is a bunch of rat [***]. The scam you into buying subscriptions, tell you they pay full subscription up front and you pay them back! [***]! I tried to cancel a dozen times and wouldn't let me. 3 years later I get a phone call from lawyer that they are suing me for $1000 for unpaid balance! Businesses like these need to burn to the ground!

    They're fakes..
You've described exactly what they do.

Since most consumer magazines cost around $10/year, that would be 100 years of magazines, or 20 magazines for 5 years, if you ordered directly from the publisher.  No one would ever buy $1000 in magazines.  In fact, there's really no reason to buy magazines from any seller other than the publisher.

Bet they never disclosed this alleged "thousand dollars for magazine subscriptions" up front.  Bet they pitched it as some "bargain deal", then after they started taking your money, they changed the terms on it, since no one would actually agree to pay what they now claim you "owe".

They haven't paid for any "full subscription up front", either.  You can check with the publisher directly.  You'll probably find there isn't even any paid subscription, just a "free trial subscription" the industry routinely offers, to get some magazines sent to you.

They're running a shakedown racket, using a few magazines as props to extort "settlements" of several hundred dollars, just to go away.  That's why they claim you "owe" over a thousand.

You aren't being "sued", and you haven't received a call by a "lawyer".  That's just their act.
Part of their operation plays "collection agency", and another part plays "law firm".
Who knows, maybe they're at the next desk, or in the building across the street.

Don't lose sleep.  Just file fraud complaints with FTC and your state Attorney General, as well as the NY AG.
If they call and make threats, tell them you're recording the call, and are forwarding it to the the FBI's Buffalo field office.

I just received a call from a man claiming Allied is going to sue me for over $900 for a $124 subscription to magazines when I've already paid over $250.  I'm worried about being scammed now by the gentleman trying to collect.  Not the way I planned on spending my morning.

This scam has been perpetuated on Western New Yorkers by the Mosey Family for decades. Now, all the people's money has enabled the corporate attorney and family member Aces Mosey to buy her way into being a Surrogate Judge in Western, NY. Immoral, unethical people, such as Mosey should be called out for what they are and not be promoted to rule over family trusts. Wake up Erie County citizens and ethical  attorneus.  Stop this scam and crony corrupt government!

Literally just got a call from Allied Publishers stating the person was an attorney and she was calling in regard to a small claims docket number. Lol. Funny thing is, i didnt know who Allied was and until reading this i learned they sell magazines.  I dont even receive magazines nor have I ever so I dont know what they are trying to do or how. I told the said “attorney” to take me off scamming call list and she started yelling at me.  I disnt even listen to her and told her to lose my number and hung up.

Just got a call from an "attorney" claiming I can either pay 206 to cancel, 1300 for what I owe, or get a subpoena to go to court. He got mighty angry when I insisted that he email me all his supporting documents while I stay on the phone. My gut told me scam, but he did have my social and birthdate. He hung up on my when i said I won't pay without documents.

I just received a call as well.  I had gotten one a few years too.  But yes, he had my social, and knew the names of my children and see they will have their wages levied as well. He said he would settle for $259 if I paid today. I hung up.

I just got a call from a Mark Kamorowski senior investigator, saying that there is a small claims docket, where a levy would be placed on my bank accounts, with a court date of 12/29/17 for $1,500 in magazine subscriptions from over 10 years ago, that I don't remember ordering or receiving.  I could settle today and avoid the attorney and court date, if I paid $240 today.  He was very polite until I started asking questions to verify his claim, he said I was in contempt of court, then he danced around the questions and got rude with me saying this call was being recorded and would be used in court, and he hung up.  This totally felt like a scam, but was a little unsettling.

I too just had a call from the.same person ( Mark Kamarowski ) who was adamant about a bill owed to Allied Publishers. He was very stern in his manner but when confronted about his company address and phone number he became overly aggressive. Thats when I realized this has to be a scam

I got the same phone call last week from a different person, she called other members of my family today and screamed at me when I requested that she stop calling.  I have filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals office regarding this in hopes that it will stop this non-sense.  She didn't give a court date but said that a process server would be assigned to serve me with court papers, if I didn't settle with a credit card over the phone for $300.00.  She also indicated that other members of my family would be summoned as well.   What a scam, and how many people believe this and have paid them.

I got a call today saying I had to pay over 300 or I would be served papers to go to court in New York and would need a lawyer.  I was told all my income would be levyed. I requested documentation and was told they dont send that.  I was informed it has to be paid today.

I got a call today saying I had paid 17 payments to Allied Publishing,  between 2008 and 2010. They gave me my ex husbands address,  where i wasn't even living at that time. Then she said I pay over 3000 or I would be served papers to go to court in New York and would need a VERY GOOD lawyer.  I was told that a process server would be serving me papers.   I told her I had never even heard of the company.  She says,  they sold me magazine subscriptions for 5 different magazines,  yet I have never had a magazine subscription in my entire life.  After I told her that,  I said have a nice day and hung up.  She called back and left a voicemail saying that now I was being sued by the federal postal services for theft of services.  I told her to go ahead,  and bless her little heart.  She screamed that I should pay my bills,  so I screamed NEVER CALL THIS # AGAIN😂😂

That's a new one - the postal service is suing for theft of services.  The post office has nothing to do with the magazine company (other than delivery the magazine)...

I got a call today from an “investigator” Mark Kamorowski. He left a message with a file number saying that I or my legal representative need to call him back. I was thinking scam. Then my dad called me and said he got a call from this same guy and he actually answered and the guy had my SS number as well as my moms! He said the guy was very rude and wouldn’t discuss anything with him. So I called the guy back and I was very pleasant and he said that there’s a small claims court docket and that allied publishers is suing me and that I owe $1242 for 29 months of magazine from 2004 to 2006.  I told him that I have never subscribe to magazines and he told me that it’s my exact voice on the recording that he has and he gave me the phone number that I called to order the magazines from which was the place that I worked a couple of years before that. I told him that he is mistaken  and he gave me my Social Security number which bothered me because I knew this was all a scam so I don’t know how he got that. He told me he could get the case thrown away so I asked how and he said I have to settle and pay $642. I told him I’m not paying for something I never ordered and he accused me of calling him a liar. I asked him to send me the recording that he has of me placing the order and he got very rude and I told him I’ll conracf my lawyer and he said to have my lawyer call him tomorrow. Ugh! I know it’s a scam but why does he have my social security # and my moms? These people need to go to prison. [***]!

I received the same call today about magazines I ordered, made 10 payments and then stopped paying on. I never ordered magazines. This chick game me my ssn, an old address, and my place of employment from over 13 years ago. I haven't worked in over 10 years and this order was placed 8 years ago. Funny thing is the company I worked for went out of business which is why I no longer work there. She got pretty upset when I let her know what I thought of her scam. I'm supposedly being sued for around 900 dollars.  I'll be waiting for my papers to be served.  Sure I'll be dead before they come as this is a huge scam. After her call I placed a freeze on my credit.
