I have got a recharge for International roaming of Rs 3999 for US/ Canada. I am in the middle of the trip and I recieved the following message from Airtel:

Usage alert: As per the last update, approx. international roaming usage on your airtel mobile 8130352811 is Rs  104264. Usage Breakup: Voice-Rs. -1634, Data-Rs. 105898. To stop the services, SMS NO to +918220998997

This is ridiculous. I called on Airtel Helpline and they have told me that it's an error. But, how do you expect me to use my phone if I receive such horrendous messages from your company? Please send me an SMS or email and please confirm that it's an error message. Otherwise how am I going to use your services properly?

I am visiting Switzerland. I have opted for IR plan 2999 that gives me 3GB data.
I received a phone call from +918220998997 at 1.30am stating my bill is over 4000. I asked the person "Chandrakant" if he was aware of the hour at my end. He said, yes! But he needs a response if I want to continue else my phone will be blocked. I accepted.
Next day again my bill increased to 7000!!
I have not made any major usage of the phone all day... So I called this number and he tells me they are charging 3rs per mb.
    1. When I said on the phone to renew the same package - why 3rs per mb when I should be getting 3GB for 3k... why do I pay 1k extra ??
Response: "because it's not allowed to renew the package."
Then why didn't you say so when you called me at 1.30am??!
And where does it mention these terms of 3rs per Mb etc on the website??
    2. Why can't I get the 15GB data pack mentioned on your website? (Code ACTP15)
Response: "there is no such pack, you cannot"
Then why is it on your website??
    3. Is your company policy okay with called customers at odd night hours?
Response: "customers call anytime so we can also call customers at any time"
Really, Airtel? Is that how you treat customers now? We are your 24 hour call center?
    4. Your msg to me at 11.30pm says respond with "YES" else service will be blocked. You expect me to be reading this at 11.30pm. What if a person is asleep?
Response: "then I will block the service"

This is a new low in customer service for Airtel. Looking forward to switch carrier after getting some answers on the bill - which I do not agree with.
