I have a pre-paid phone from Cingular/AT+T.  I swing by Radio Shack and buy $50 every month or so ... Well, for some reason I was frugal with my minutes.  It was over 90 days and I had to get more $$/minutes because mine were stolen.  My phone just goes dead.  Friends tell me that they have tried calling but get wierd message.  So off I go to Radio Shack.  There are four young persons behind the counter. "uh oh" I think, this will make it easy to intimidate them or I'll be frustrated beyond belief by their incompetence.  I politely explain and ask the Radio Shack folks what happened and the 18-year old behind the counter (who happens to be in my direct vision) has no clue, but luckily the 22-year old employee next to him does.  She says "your minutes expired."  I ask what she is talking about.  She tells me that $20 lasts 30 days and expire unless you use up the $$, $50 lasts 90 days, etc.  I indicate that I believe customers should be made aware of this.  She says "it says it right on the receipt."  I buy $20 in minutes (because otherwise my phone is just a doorstop) and look at the receipt and read out loud (paraphrasing) 'your minutes will expire in a certain number of days, ask an associate about it because we won't put it in writing.'  NICE.

I will NEVER knowingly BUY, USE or support AT+T. Also (being vindictive) I will make sure EVERY SINGLE PERSON I KNOW will learn of this.

Congratulations AT+T, I hope the $11 was worth it.
