I bought a Dirt Devil Vacuum cleaner around March 3rd from Fred Meyer  . And started to have problems with the on and off switch. I took it in twice in two weeks for the switch when i turned off .It would not turn back on.Then next two weeks I would twice after they replaced the switch it wouldn`t shut off. And I would call dirt devil to see if i could get a replacement since this one seems to be a "lemon' Then they agreed to replace it.And they told me that they would send the replacement to their repair center at Quality Sewing and Vacuum,in Federal way.And so I took my defective vacuum there and they told me they told them that they were ship it my apt. So we called Dirt devil a number of times .In fact was I called them on my own cell phone ,and was on the phone for 1 1/2 hours .With me and the store manager trying to get it straitened out. And then Dirt Devil said they would call the store back to confirm.I waited a couple of weeks to check and see if my replacement vacuum had arrived. The Store had heard nothing ,along with me .No phone call,no e-mail not a peep ot of them.So I tried calling them couldn`t get through.So i emailed the and got a reply.So i called the number they sent and the lady I talked to said that she would call me back that same day or the following Monday. Waited till Tues day again no reply. So again I emailed Dirt devil so this was on the record.I called again on March 3rd at 10;00 am PST.So they could call Quality Sewing & vacuum .Since they opened at 10;00 AM.PST. I was on the phone for a good half hour. Until I got through.and the lady transferred me to the Warranty dept.and i gave the guy the information he requested .And He said he call me back within an hour.So  I waited an no return phone call .So I called back and waited 45 minutes.Could`t get through. So i waited 1/2 hour then i emailed them .And have been waiting fo over 3 hrs.and still no return call. I know it its an inexpensive vacuum Model UD70105.  I have work at Office Depot as a delivery driver.And was Associate of the Month 6 different times.So I know what good customer service is.And this is piss poor service,

    I have the same identical problem with my Dirt Devil Cyclonic Upright  - the on/off switch does not work.  [Model # UD70167] When I mash it it comes on but will not stay on--when you turn loose of it the vacuum goes off.  Have conversed with Dirt Devil by email multiple times; even though I purchased a extended warranty from Walmart they will not honor it as they say it is still warranted by Dirt Devil.  Tried to first tell me that it was clogged up & needed to be cleaned--that's not the problem--it will not run.  I purchased it in December but did not use it till around Christmas as we have put Laminate Flooring down & I purchased it just to vacuum area rugs & runners.  Kept trying to use it in January, February & March.  Finally husband told me the on/off switch wasn't working.  I feel that it is a lemon as it has been used maybe 6 times max.  It has not been running since April but I had to take it to a authorized warranty repair shop which both were around 35 miles away.  My husband has been sick so I didn't get a chance to take it until today.  I ask the lady if it would be ready to pick up next week when we go to Winston-Salem to the doctor [Repair shop  is in  High Point].  She informed me that she had no clue when I would get it back--they would have to check it, report it to Dirt Devil & wait for their authorization & then they would have to furnish them with the repair parts. I am upset - I need a vacuum cleaner.  I will never ever buy another Dirt Devil product of any kind & I am also upset at Walmart because they will not help me.

    I have the same problem with my Dirt Devil, I am so disappointed, my first Dirt Devil was the best vacuum cleaner ever, and this replacement Dirt Devil is the worst.
