Non-working Striker; Paint peeling

No matter how many times I hit the igniter switch it will not light !! Inside the hood the paint is peeling which in turns it falls onto the food. I choose not to eat paint chipped BBQ Chicken!! On the burner lid the paint has also peeled. And due to the elements it naturally is rusting!I haven’t owned the grill even 6 months!!
What a disappointment!!
