In Jan '8 I agreed to a "Bundle" Pkg. with ATT/Bell South t0 include residential. long distance,DSL and DTV w/all local channels and HDDVR capable receiver. I asked many questions, specifically the contract committment, and was told 6 mo. to include local extended local, unlimited long distance, high speed DSL, and DTV with 6 months free Premium Channels. Cost $130. month. All went well until yhe  DTV tech came in, got everything set up and handed me the work order to sign verifying that my service was set up and ready to be activated. Needless to say...... read the fine print is a bit of advise to always follow. Not only do I NOT get any local channels, nor did I get the HHDVR Receiver (Thay wanted to charge me $99. more for an upgrade. When I called DTV I was told that I would have to take this up with ATT/Bell South. I then requested to discontinue the DTV service part of the bundle and was told that would cost me $275. I explained that my bundle service and contract was with AT&T/Bell South, not DTV. That is when he informed me that I had soghned a 2 yr. contract with them. I explained that the only contract I signed was for a 6 mo. promo bundle thru ATT/Bell South and he said the work order I had signed the day before was in fact their own contract and had no obligation toward anything ATT may have misrepresented. So now I'm stuck with what I consider to be an illegal (or at the very least, unethical) contract for a service I wouldn't pay $3. month for because unless you spend about another couple hundred a month ll you get is crap tv, sports, religion. XM Radio, and paid progam info-mercials. I called ATT and was told the service rep I made the agreement with was no longer with the company and there was noyhing they could do.OKAY.... shame on me, but come Jan. 2010....SHAME ON THEM

I was with ATT for many years and sadly, when ATT took over the SBC line here in Texas they comprimised everything from courtesy to honesty.  They not only overcharged me all the time, they began double billing me until it cost me over $100. a month for basic phone without long distance and without any voice mail or extras.  In fact, it took me three weeks to get my phone hooked up in my home when they hooked up my phone in my name in someone elses home without my permission!

Sadly, their representative told me high speed internet was available when I moved and after making the arrangements to transfer my services - they showed up to install my lines and had no internet available and misrepresented their services to me in an effort to keep my business.

Needless to say, it backfired as I changed all of my services to cable and now they are trying to collect over $200.00 for bills I do not owe.

Be careful who you trust because business is not what it is used to be.  These companies are never liable for their employess and customer representatives actions or offers.
