false identification from caller

male called into my home inquired about my home security and wanted to know did I have anyone that wanted to have home security service.  male called from the phone number (205) 655-9223 caller ID as: Alstate Security.  However, I reversed the phone number and person connected to the phone number is Jack Warren Vines Jr. at 5424 Carrington Circle Trussville, AL and also named Jay Vines.. researched some more found number is listing Mr. Vines to a company name Vines Medical Management; also found a Jay Vines and he can possibly be Dr. James Andrew. There is no exists of Alstate Security. Please stop this person from calling homes.

    It is common for telemarketing call centers who have decided to violate the Do Not Call law to spoof their caller id, using some number they make up to avoid a trail back to them.

    If they are engaged in Do Not Call violations, and spoofing their caller id, then whatever product they are selling is probably shady as well.  They are probably generating leads for some alarm company, that would then later contact the homeowner to make an appointment and try to sell an alarm product.  

    In the alarm business, there are a number of companies who use high pressure sales tactics,deception and misrepresentation, and predatory contracts, so beware.
