want a fix from Maytag

We bought the washer and dryer in Aug 2009. We don't use it as started makeing noise about one year ago. I am told it is a brass bearing. Magtag doesn't have a fix yet to replace the bearing because it comes with the basket.  The cost is over $800.00. I asked for help from Maytag including the Maytag store.
