I have received several phone calls from 770-234-0101 and 866-929-6972. Calling for some woman with the same last name. They have been calling my house for the past 3 years and they call for several months all while I am explaining that they have the wrong number. After arguments with the caller they quit calling for a couple months but then the calls start again. I've had several run-ins with the callers. Most recently the caller asked for "Terra" and I said that she didn't live here.  The caller proceeded to state "but you do know her".  I told her I know of her because she and other call here for her constantly but NO.  She finished the call with a rather rude way to end the conversation... "so you don't know her. It's as simple as that."  What would me a little more simple is IF THEY WOULD QUIT CALLING ME.  If feel as though I am being harrased by these phone calls. They are constant and when we do answer - they are ignorant and rude.

File harassment complaints with FTC, your state AG, and the GA AG.

If that doesn't work, send a letter, mailed certified, notifying them that they have been calling and harassing you, at nnn-nnn-nnnn, claiming to be trying to reach some person you never heard of and don't know, and that you are demanding they cease calling your.

If you have further problems, contact a consumer attorney regarding suing for violations of FDCPA.
You might try www.naca.net to find one in your state.

tj, here is B2B Voice Broadcasting "Do Not Call Policy"

      http://b2bvb.com/compliance/B2BVB_Business_Policy.pdf

They obviously violated it to get the FTC lawsuit.

This is the same Do Not Call Policy we've rquested from several "cardholder services".
Nothing has ever been received. It's simply not enforced by the FTC under TCPA laws.

Dealing with Nations Recovery Center has quite possibly been the worse experience of my LIFE. In 2010, as I was finishing my undergraduate studies, I ended up having a medical emergency. As a result of my medical bills, I was evicted from my apartment and I ended up owing the management company $2400. Over the next year and a half, I paid on my debt until I got it down to $1228.00. By this time, NRC had purchased the debt and my first contact with them was with a Ms. Crystal Hillard. She called myself and my fiancee and left voice mails threatening to find out where we worked so that our wages could be garnished. She further stated that in order for this not to happen, one of us had to contact her before 6PM that day. I called her and paid $300 on the balance and about two weeks later, I paid another $100 on the balance. The final balance was $828.00 and we set up a payment plan. I let Ms. Hillard know that my bank had a daily limit and if she ran my card for the whole amount, it would decline. I told her to set it up for two payments. Well, literally, right after we got off the phone, she (or someone in her office) ran the card for the full amount not once but THREE times! My bank suspected that this was fraud and my account was disabled until I went to a local branch to show my ID. In the meantime (today, 11/7/2012), Ms. Hillard called my phone and because I didn't answer (I was in class), she decided to call several of my friends and relatives (along with one of my fiancee's friends and one of her aunts) to let them know that I have a debt with NRC and if it was at all possible, to please have me get in touch with her. My fiancee was understandably quite upset and sent me a text message (to go along with the TM's and calls that I got from my mother, grandmother, father, and my fiancee's aunt) letting me know that Ms. Hillard had called her cell phone five or six times in an hour! I called NRC and spoke with a supervisor who assured me that this behavior is not in keeping with NRC policies and she stated that she was going to be pulling all of the calls. What can I do to protect myself from this sort of harassment? I acknowledge the debt is mine and am paying it off (and if Ms. Hillard hadn't run my card for the whole $828, she would have had half of the payment on 11/5 with the final payment coming on 11/15).

My mother received a letter from Nations Recovery Service saying that she owed over $7K on a Verizon Mastercard.  She is 84 years old and in declining health.  I called these people and they told me that this is from 1994!  They told me that this card was renewed in 2004.  I know that the statute of limitations on credit card debt in KY is 5 years.  The man told me it is 15 years, not true.  Now they are calling me several times a day every day.
