I attempted to order a shymaro body suit from a TV Advertisement.  I received a letter stating "They were sold out" and my money WAS RETURNED, however I have been charged $24.95 a month for approximately a year and also $14.95 from SB Savings? (I'm still waiting for those great saving coupons). Due to a busy schedule and work, I regret that I did not take care of this matter.  I had my Visa debit card changed (01) time for this reason and was told by the Bank that I did not have to change my account number, just the (03) numbers on the back.  This apparently did not solve ALL of the charges that were being taken from my account.

Your bank gave you bad advise, as you found.

These scammers set up their charges as "automatic and repeating", which allows the charges to continue even when a new card is issued as long as the card number is the same.  They aren't running them through as individual charges requiring each new CVV.

Send notice to your bank, IN WRITING, that the fraudulent charges have continued despite their advise not to block the card.  List all fraudulent charges in your dispute.  In addition, file a complaint with your local police for fraud and theft, and obtain a copy of the police report.  File that with your bank as well.

Your bank will probably come back claiming they can only refund unauthorized charges back 60 days.  File a complaint against your bank with OCC (Office of the Comptroller of the Currency), including the disputed charges, and your bank's failure to protect you from ongoing fraud.  This may or may not be very effective, but do it anyway.

You should also contact the office of Sen. Jay Rockefeller, whose Senate Commerce Committee is investigating this and several similar scam companies.  These companies are trying to claim their charges are "authorized", that consumers could "cancel", etc, yet the charges are set up to continue.  Detail the problems this has caused, the failure of your bank to stop it, and your monetary loss.

These scams have reached the level of a multi-billion dollar "industry".

You might also contact the New York Attorney General, who is also investigating the companies that pass consumer account information to these scams.

EVERY TIME you find fraudulent charges on an account, you must dispute it, IN WRITING, under FRB Reg. E (for checking accounts or debit cards), or under FCBA (for credit cards), and close the account due to fraud to block future fraud.  That is the ONLY effective action you can take, since companies that set up to make fraudulent charges will do so in a manner to maximize their take even knowing the actions you might take to block them.  For example, using multipe names for charges makes blocking charges against one "company" ineffective.

While you are at it, find a new bank.  This one hasn't done it's job.  You will know for sure when you find whether they will make you whole.  Not likely.

In the future, do NOT have or use checking account numbers, debit or check cards.  They are inherently insecure when used for retail purchases.  Use ONLY credit cards for retail or on-line purchases, since they are simpler to block, and the banks are more likely to proactively protect your interests if they think it is their money being stolen.

Not a believer in your honesty
My research has found your exact posting on every website with complaints about your Savings@Go scam. What did you do? Search out every complaint site and post a "form letter" reply?

Any attempt to cancel your services just results in a lengthy attempt by your "customer service reps" to garner more information.

    Bad business.

Your honesty is in question here.  I've made only  (01)one attempt to try to find out who SB Savings and WC Value Plus is and now Easy Saver has also joined the group.  As far as a "form letter" goes, this is the first time I ever seen one.  Since I have been charged a monthly fee for some time now, I think its only fair to want to know Why.  Where you detect dishonestly is what I am asking you????

I'd like to respond with correct information to this post. First of all, the Bank is required by federal regulation to investigate all disputes presented to them by cardholders. And Regulation E states that a dispute needs to be filed by the cardholder within 60 days of the statement that contains the disputed item. After that timeframe, the Bank has no obligation to the cardholder. Remember, this is a federal regulation. Filing a complaint with OCC, FDIC, OTS is not productive, since these are the very agencies that enforce federal regulations.

As far as making retail or on-line purchases with a debit card versus a credit card, if a card (debit or credit) is branded with a VISA logo or a MASTERCARD logo, the cards fall under the same rules whether the card is a debit or credit.

My advice would be to verify your facts before you start spouting off information.

Caught on to a fraudulent charge on our Visa starting Feb09. This is a frequently used visa and the 14.95 wasn't questioned until we stopped using this card and the charge was on it. Called and they said we purchased a product and signed up for a discount saving something or another. Stated we recieved an email and hard copy in the mail about it and gave me dates. Lucky me I have all my emails saved and called their Bluff.
I explained that their choice was to refund the past moneys fraudulently charged or/and I was going to report this matter to both the Attorney Generals office and Their state senitor (Plano Tx). She very quickly said they would credit me a year, but could not go back farther then that. She then gave me the address to write a further request for the additional 5 months.  Credit of 149.00 should show up in 3-5 days...we will see. What a Scam!!

Savings 2 go  is a scam! i just notice these automatic withdraw been charge to my credit card.  In 2008, I called a company that offered a foreclosure listings, but canceled it a few days after. It was a useless listing they sent me and never enrolled or knew of saving2go, only  now.  Called saving2go to find out how they had my credit card and my personal information, found they were partners with the Company that offered the Foreclosure listing .  By accepting and trying out the foreclosure listing i also was accepted Savings2go,  (as what i was explain by Saving2go tel- operator).  I asked the operator from Saving2go that i have canceled a few day later after i saw the foreclosure listing that they gave me was junk and it should have canceled saving2go as well, since both companies were connected their advertisement.  It did not happen, and what a scam!!!!. I am trying to get my money back and hope this helps to prevent anyone else falling into their scam. This company never, ever sent an email or mail to my home about anything and only quietly withdrew payments.

Dear President of SBSavings2GoTXUS complaints - Unauthorized charge on credit card.  I have been charged 5 times for 14.95 for something I did not authorize.  I would like a complete refund.  I have received l refund back.  I would like the other 4 charges refunded.  Should this not happen within a reasonable amount of time, I will be contacting my attorney.  I have already contacted my credit card company.  They will be looking into and investigating these phony charges.  I find this a despicable way for you to have ripped myself and others off.  I recently phoned 1-888-551-9964 and talked to a person on 01/10/2011 at 12:30 p.m.  This person's name was Lacey.  I told her that I expected all the money back at that time I thought there was only 2 charges.  Imagine my horror to find 5 charges in all.  That was charged to my credit card.  You credit my account for one refund of $14.95.  I have 4 more that I strongly request that you refund to me.  Please do this as soon as possible. I expect to hear from you or else. Phone 1-812-882-4457.
If you were me, you would want the same thing and would be just as upset to find this on your credit card. I would like to know how you got our credit card number.  Neither me or my wife gave it to you to our knowledge.
I will be waiting to hear from you as soon as possible.

Savings2go and American Leisure are, BIG SURPRISE!, joined in a scam as
are Everyday Bargains and Easy Saver. All four of these jerks deducted money from my account without authorization starting four days after my daughter placed an order for a TV offer. They must sell credit card numbers to each other and get a "commission" for how many people they sign up so just automatically sign for you!! I never gave any of these crooks my credit card number so how did they get it? Through Consumer Fraud, embezzlement and out & out theft is the only way they gained access to my bank account! After reading all these complaints going back years I have to wonder where our justice dept. has been that they haven't put a stop to this stealing from people's bank accounts! Oh, that's right, their to busy stopping people from sharing music!! Until they actually decide to do their job and protect the American public from these thieves this will continue to happen. The dealers who allow these crooks to join their marketing should also be held accountable. Good luck dealing with whom ever answers any of their phone calls! They're rude and stop short of calling you a liar when you tell them you NEVER signed up for their product - what ever it is! I never got an email, a letter or a confirmation that I had "joined" their "club". Had these been legimate "clubs" they would never have had to sneak in under the cover of another business to sell their crap nor made it almost impossible to reach someone to cancel a "membership"!!! Hey, Attorney General Holder.. maybe you should start doing your job protecting us here at home instead of approving a deal to sell guns to Mexican drug cartels!

If people simply listened to the person on the other end of the phone they would never had ended up in a sticky situation.  All you have to do is either decline the offer as they're jamming it down your throat or call and cancel in the first 30 days.  If you do not, you have no legal recourse.

    Della,

    1) Did you call in to order the keymaro body shaper?
    2) If yes to #1, were you offered voucher for a free $50 gift cards to try?
    3) If yes to #2, did you call them up to cancel before the 30 trial? <---- doesnt sound like it since you're being billed. If you'd listened on the phone to what was said in the first place, beyond the word free ....

Savings 2 go is NOT a scam. I opened an acct with them recently. Used the 25 and 10 dollar rebates on gas and groceries they offered FREE and then closed my account no questions asked. And I'm also getting the 14.95 back. I Believe if you actually keep an eye on your banking acct they can't possibly scam you.

Just curious. Has anyone been able to get off their list? I'm trying to cancel the credit card I gave them and have the entire balance paid off except for this recurring $14.95. I've finally found it's Savings 2 Go. I sent an email requesting to be removed from their list.

I'm not looking for a refund or anything. I apparently screwed the pooch and accepted this offer somewhere along the way. I just want to be removed and cancel the "offers" that never came and the charges that came regularly so I can cancel this credit card.

Other scam company names for "Savings2Go"- "USA benefits", "Stonebridge", " ____ vision" (sorry didn't get first name).I accidently called this company when I was REALLY trying to call my car ins Co to make payment. The auto-line had a grabber question stating since I was one of the first 50 callers& I've won a $100 walmart gift card.Unfortunately, this time of year with Christmas coming up, my heart was thinking (about buying my kids Christmas presents),not my mind. So it told me to press 1 to continue to get the free gift card (which at the whole time I thought this was just an attached message of my car insur Co).I pressed 1,& unfortunately by putting the 1 in,it wiped out the original # I dialed to see if I correctly called my ins co.Next, I gave my personal info,& the foreign accent man told me I'd be talking to his super to get a confim#, & I need this if I want to cancel my services before the 30 days.So to do the confirm# (only if you say YES), they need to re-record my name, phone, address, and credit card #, which that made me start worrying, since if it was a normal local company to call, you don't need to give your personal info twice! So, I started asking them what company that they're affiliated with that I was trying to make my payment. They kept avoiding the question and kept telling me they're Stonebridge, but I wanted to know from them what MY (insur) company so I could see if they were just scamming off my insur Co's tel# somehow.Anyway, I called my credit card Co while I was on the line with them,& the credit card co said "_____ vision" put a $1 charge on my credit card (to test it out to see if it was a valid card)-My credit card Co said I can dispute any charges by any fraudulent Co's. So I told "Stonebridge" (that couldn't give me any website info to look them up on the web) that I don't want their free $100 giftcard, and don't charge my account. Also, different reps called several times trying to get me to say 'yes' to the confirmation, but I just got more info, that they also go as "USA benefits/Savings to Go". I further refused the service. Then I called my credit card's fraud dept to cancel my card and re-issue.  Also, after speaking with my car insur Co that stated they weren't affiliated with such a company,I called a similar # (changing the last # on the car insurance phone #),& it comes up a company that the rep automatically wants your personal info, so that confirms I dialed a wrong last digit/#.  Be careful.
