It is wise in all dealings with Ballys to communicate in writing, mailed certified, so that you have proof of when you cancelled. Paper documentation can then trump any fraudulent claims they may concoct. Their contract may even specify that cancellation must be done by mail.
You would be wise to cancel via certifed mail, so you have proof of when you mailed it, and that they received it. This makes it more effective should you need to get the assistance of your state AG to get them to back off of a fraudulent claim. They are more likely to just cave when challenged instead of stonewalling.
Never ever choose to believe them!
