My husband and I decided to replace old windows in our house and signed a contract with Dream House Windows for $9378. We thought it was a good deal because the salesman knocked off $2000 for us from the price they gave us at first.

The same day we spoke to our friends and neighbors and learned that the deal is not good at all. We found out that we will be paying almost twice as much the market price of the service.

The next day early in the morning my husband faxed them our cancellation request (we had 3 days to change our mind according to the contract). He then called and spoke to our salesman.

The sales person was furious that we are canceling our contract. He was rude, called us different names and refused to give us a confirmation that the contract has been canceled. My husband just hung up.

We never heard from them again, and I hope the contract was indeed canceled, and we will not be chased by some collection agency. My advice - shop around and never sign contract with a company before researching it.

    Dreamhouse of White Marsh, Maryland.

The good: installers were great, efficient, honest, friendly, kept the area clean. Nothing but good things to say about them.

The not so good: The administration side lacked attention to detail. The front door installed was the wrong color on the inside. The bathroom windows installed were picture windows instead of double hung. The patio sliding door installed opened in the wrong direction. Finally, owners were unresponsive to emails asking for a proper invoice to complete a VA state rebate form, which would have saved us a couple of $100. Disappointing, for a $24k job, no?

Wages owed to illegal immigrants are still payable, by law. Illegal immigrants are not slaves. You're pretty ignorant if you think wages don't have to be paid just because a worker is here illegally.

I think if someone from Trenton were to check, they haven't paid a lot of the workers for the actual hours worked!!  I think the wage and hour people would be really interested in how they do business.  They change the names like the wind there.  Good Luck.  Sounds like a class action suit to me.  Too bad I own windows because when they go out of business, I loose my "lifetime" warranty.

I don't quite get the point of Helens complaint.. you don't even know how your job would've turned out. You made an agreement and canceled. Obviously people would be frustrated for you wasting their time lol beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you have a gold reckless and I hate jewelry it holds no value to me. So if people you talked with arent in the market for windows then of course it's gonna sound expensive. You have to live with the windows that you purchase, not the people you asked for advice. At the end of the day you need to trust yourself in making the right decisions

Excuse me Paul but that is called the business of sales. Any customer has 3 days to change thier mind no matter what the reason. They are supposed to hold a check for 3 days, as per in any contract, and in my situation they cashed it the next day. When I called the next day to cancel, a Manager was extremly rude to me, called me a liar, amongest other things. My salesman was polite and knowledgable, but they were not the best deal for equal or better quality, and I have every right to cancel my order. I believe Paul was the name of the Manager I spoke with, perhaps that is you. You talk about wasting people's time, my visit was 2 and a half hours, really. I knew want I wanted, and the only conversation needed to be what thier company had to offer at what price and thier warranty. I did not need to care to know about other companies and what they are doing or not doing. I am glad people had good experiences, but that was not mine and I am glad I did not choose this company, I still don't have a refund check after being promised it to be cut in three days not 7-10 days,  per the owners conversation I had on 12/18/2012. If someone gets frustrated after every sale they may not make, perhaps sales is not for them. I told every salesman who came to my home I was obtaining three quotes.

The guy Robert is the head of the sales people.  He is a wannabe Joe Pesci.  He treats people like [***].  Anyway, they are over priced, they don't make their own windows.  They don't own a window plant...they are ordered and sold as a private label.  Their marketing campaign is very aggressive.  The will call and call you until you make an appointment with a salesman.  The sales procedure is painful.  It's a BS dog and pony show with heat lamps and other gimmicks.  The windows are "average"...they are not even close to Anderson or Pella or other name brands.  Oh...one more thing.  If they pull the old "we have promotional money set aside that wasn't used last year" line that is a gimmick too.  I could go on for days about their BS tricks.  Most of their employees are telemarketers.  Anyway...be careful!

Does anyone on here know if Dream House is the same company as Majestic Home Remodel?  They are in the same town, and the owners have the same last name.  The reason I ask is I heard Dream House filed for bankruptcy.  To me it would seem a little strange if DH did that, then a relative opened up another window company called Majestic.  I got a very good quote for windows from Majestic so thats why I am curious.  Thanks

I work for Majestic and I worked for Dream House up until 2009, I can promise you the two companies are not connected, the opening of Majestic has actually caused very bad blood and has separated their families! Dream House has stolen business from us by lying saying the own Majestic (why would you steal a job from a company you own?) It is a fact that if and when Dream House finally goes out of business, you will never find any of their owners/management (Lorenzo or Firas Emachah) working at majestic Home Remodeling! Shane@choosemajestic.com please contact me with any questions.

If that is so then why is it that both companies use the same manufacturer,  Affinity  out of PA?

      Buyer Beware replies to Vince
I can only answer with my recent experience with Dream House Windows. I used the Home  Advisor site to be matched with window companies and that is how I thought I was matched up with, and ended up doing business with Dream House which has turned into my worse NIGHTMARE.  I have done some research and this is what I have discovered this far after speaking with a Home Advisor representative.  I was matched with only one company, Majestic Home Remodeling so how did Dream House obtain my personal information?  Home Advisor also stated that Dream House has not been a member for a few years so Majestic must have out sourced my information.  The owner of Majestic has the same last name as the owner of Dream House Windows.  What do you think this means?

They are brothers replies to Vince
After Dream House filed for bankruptcy the brother started Majestic.  I would not do business with either company if I were you.  According to detailed reviews Dream House fraudulently used the Energy Star and Good Housekeeping logo.  In short, customers did NOT get what they contracted and paid for.  Does anyone really want to deal with and give their hard-earned money to a company who commits fraud?  The Dream House Warranty is only as good as the company standing behind it.  Their installation procedures are also very, very poor and there are prior customers now in court due to structural damage due to water seepage.  They will sell you the moon if they can with their professional sales tactics but all you will receive is grief, heartache and a bag of coal.
