Recently purchased a new energy efficient high end Dishwasher from a local appliance store. It was installed and we used it once, then the unit broke, you could not get the door to hatch upon closing. We called for a repair on a 18 day old unit, we were promptly scheduled for this service a week and a half later. Today would have been the day the repair work was scheduled through the sub AE Factory Service. We were told that the service would be performed between 8 am and noon. At 11:47 the repair man called and said I am a Clothes Waher repair person and I can't help you. I asked what he was going to do and he advised me he can not help and hung up. I called his company and was told that it was a Whirlpool problem - so I called Whirlpool - after waiting 11 minutes for my call to be answered in turn, the representative said that she would check into the problem, after 22 minutes on hold waitng for her to find out what happend, she came back on and said they requested a Dishwasher repair and didn't know what happend. She then proceeded to advise me that the earliest I could now have the product repaired next Friday a whole week and a day from today. A total of 18 days waiting for repair, and I only had use of the unit for 4 days. What a way to run a business - - DON'T BY WHIRLPOOL! They are not concerned about their customers concerns.
